This Role:
As an Engineering Manager at Norm Ai, you will lead, support, and grow a high-performing engineering team, aligning their efforts with strategic business goals. You will partner closely with technical directors, legal engineers, product teams, and executive leadership to deliver innovative compliance solutions.
You Will:
Provide people leadership and career mentorship through regular 1:1s, performance management, and development planning.

An Engineering Manager is accountable for technical product management and engineering health of assigned products/platforms. An Engineering Manager has software engineering experience and is expected to be well versed in DevSecOps best practices and familiar with Azure Technologies.
Technical Product Management
- Partners with Stakeholders to drive solutions to meet business needs.
- Accountable for the planning (inc. estimation / forecasting), execution and success of technical Epics, or technical aspects of larger Epics to achieve business outcomes.
- Ensures mechanisms for technical oversight are in place whilst executing through skilled engineers, including spend, governance & decision making within the Product Team(s) or technical domain(s).
- Ensures best engineering practices are followed/adopted for achieving operational excellence for business solutions (inc DevSecOps practices).
- Accountable for creating and delivering an engineering roadmap for the assigned products, partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment to Product Roadmaps, Business Strategies and Architectural standards.
- Contributes to high level vision & architecture to drive engineering and operational excellence to ensure the products delivered and maintained meet SLAs, KPIs, NFRs, compliance and engineering standards.
- Accountable for the product/platform health (i.e. reliability, quality, supportability) of these products/platforms, and for delivering on Engineering & Operational targets and standards.
- Acts as first point of contact for strategic requests from a technology perspective for their scope of responsibility.
- Acts as an escalation point for issues not resolved at a lower level in relation to the delivery of technical components.
- Serves as a liaison with other IT partners for technical matters relating to their owned products (including security related aspects).
- Influence technology, product, program management and business leaders to recommend solutions and articulate trade-offs.
- Engineering Manager will support the best Engineering Excellence practices in team, in consultation with PEs and Engineering best practices.
- Partnering with Scrum Master and Product Owner on the performance of the team.

Our dynamic team is comprised of experienced natural gas engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, surveyors, gas construction personnel as well as in-house staff expertise in the areas of legal, compliance, and safety.
The Project Manager role within the Facilities and Complex Projects Group of our Utility Engineering Division will lead a high-priority project under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager. This position will serve as the primary project lead, overseeing all aspects of project execution, client communication, and coordination with internal teams. We are seeking a highly skilled and communicative individual with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, ideally within the utility engineering lifecycle, with a preference for experience in Natural Gas Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and/or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for quality and budget, ensuring seamless project delivery while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary project lead for a complex Natural Gas engineering project, ensuring on-time delivery within quality and budget constraints.
- Lead client meetings, develop thorough meeting minutes, and assign/track action items to ensure project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with the scheduler and document controller to ensure seamless communication, document management, and project tracking.
- Coordinate with technical leads across engineering disciplines (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to align on project deliverables and timelines.
- Oversee project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain quality and budget adherence.
- Communicate regularly with the Senior Project Manager, providing updates on project status, risks, and key decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and owner requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive accountability among team members, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment between client needs and project deliverables.
Skills and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience in large-scale projects within the utility engineering lifecycle.
- Proven experience with utility engineering projects, ideally with natural gas transmission, distribution, or station design projects.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to lead client meetings and produce detailed documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel) and document management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee quality and budget, ensuring project success under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as the primary project lead while reporting to a Senior Project Manager.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience in utility engineering project management, with a focus on RNG/LNG projects.
- Prior experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams in an engineering consulting environment.
