As a Transportation Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will be working on innovative, multi-disciplinary roadway design projects for high-profile state agencies and large municipalities in the New England area. You will work closely with our team of civil engineers to lead and manage project tasks related to roadway design projects.
Majority of our team enjoys a hybrid schedule, which allows us to offer this role in any of our New England offices: Boston, MA; Springfield, MA; Worcester, MA; Rocky Hill, CT; Portland, ME; and/or Manchester, NH offices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage project tasks related to roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban streets roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements.
- Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring submission packages to clients; including bidding (cost estimates), zoning, permitting, and construction phase services documents.
- Prepare technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and drive customer service value.
- Provide technical expertise on projects from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design and occasionally beyond final design through construction services.
- Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, water, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers in various aspects of roadway design, utility infrastructure design and coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services.
- Develop detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
- Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Mentor project team, providing technical guidance and skill-based solutions along the way.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10 + years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadways.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with developing roadway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) or Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) design guidelines and standards.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MiroStation - InRoads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in 3D roadway models, horizontal alignments, profiles, cross sections, superelevation, guardrail, grading, sidewalk/curb ramps, detours/construction signing, construction phasing, quantity takeoffs, and estimates preferred.

This position is responsible for providing technical solutions for a variety of design problems of moderate scope and complexity as well as leading the development of effective design solutions for major components or major portions of a functional system. Lead the development or improvement of products which facilitate manufacturing operations utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and technical engineering software applications. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at project completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Develops layouts, sketches and drawings of a variety of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. May investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, ease of replacement, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Validates conformity to design standards and specifications and identifies design errors and other deficiencies, and recommends changes. **Job Qualifications:**

The Opportunity:Avantor is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to be responsible for activities relating to the daily production engineering release process for single use products.This includes: generation of production protocols, process and quality improvement, production flow and standard work development, process definition, and documentation. This person will also ensure the assembly meets the performance criteria required by the customer.This is a full-time position that will be based out of our Devens, MA office and will work closely with the operations, quality, and design engineering teams.What we’re looking for:Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent degree with experience in technical writing.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of direct floor support experience or assembly experience desired.Additional Qualifications:Familiarity with operating in an ISO-9000, cGMP and Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.Computer literacy is required. (MS Word, Excel & PP)Familiarity with FDA documentation preferred.Ability to define and develop single piece flow production methods in support of single use sterile assemblies.Ability to read and work with technical drawings and translate into documents for production use.How you will thrive and create an impact:Responsible for daily production support to generate production protocols, creation of standard work documents, and process fixture.Assist in resolving customer complaints in a timely manner; notify management of problems and suggest corrective actions.Lead & assist with process development and improvement activities.Support the implementation and validation of process and product documentation.Develop and implement various tooling and fixturing to meet the needs of the manufacturing departmentSupport and implement preventative maintenance and calibration programs.Understand and support company operating procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers and foster the development of long term business relationships.Perform other duties as assigned.Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
