Job Description
As an EHS Officer for mining operations, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs and policies to prevent accidents, minimize environmental impact, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., MSHA, EPA). Your duties will include conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering safety training. This position requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate EHS requirements to all levels of the workforce. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the well-being of employees and protecting the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with MSHA, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver comprehensive EHS training programs to employees and contractors on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and MSHA compliance.
- Monitor environmental performance, including air quality, water quality, and waste management, ensuring permits and regulations are met.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation as required by regulatory bodies and company policies.
- Advise management on EHS best practices, regulatory changes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, safety campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Conduct risk assessments for new equipment, processes, and operations.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and provide necessary documentation.
- Oversee the management of hazardous materials and waste.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
- Investigate employee health and safety concerns and implement solutions.
- Prepare EHS performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 1-2 years specifically in the mining, heavy industrial, or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, EPA regulations, and other relevant EHS standards.
- Proven experience in EHS program development, implementation, and auditing.
- Certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and training delivery skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a challenging outdoor environment and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage personnel at all levels.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in EHS.
- Ability to travel to remote mine sites as needed.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

+ Provide strategic direction and oversight, aligned with Corporate EHS & Risk Management, for environmental, occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, occupation medical, and security issues.

+ Ensure that site regulatory and internal reporting is submitted on time and is accurate and reproducible. Monitor site metrics and implement programs to address undesirable trends.
+ Site EHS liaison for applicable regulatory agencies and internal THS organizations (Engineering, CI, etc.). Support cross functional relationship with site FSQ, Eng, and Maintenance organizations.
+ Participate in the THS EHS & Risk Management network (communities, conferences, audits) representing the site to develop and implement Campbell EHS programs and practices consistency throughout the organization.
+ Maintaining Plant SDS Program using Sphera
+ Updating and maintaining PPE Records.
+ Supporting Worker's Compensation loss control programs and related reporting requirements.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong presence with key stakeholders and mining operations/engineering staff to foster a robust safety culture
- Perform Site Safety Walks and Job Hazard Assessments and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Review SOPs and work practices to identify any safety concerns. Support EHS Specialists in site Toolbox Talks, coordinate delivery and stock safety supplies (PPE, first aid kits, eyewash stations, spill kits etc.)
- Develop and install safety signage (emergency evacuation maps, safety one pagers)
- Support Lockout/Tagout program with labeling, training verification, and lock distribution
- Deliver basic training sessions and EHS information Conduct daily, weekly, monthly site safety walks (Construction Safety ) and input data into EHS database
- Address, document, and support safety concerns at the mining site
- Organize, file, and maintain safety documentation (e.g., training records, meeting minutes)
- Collect environmental data in the field to support compliance programs (water and soil sampling)
- Ensure all documentation is collected for incident reports and incident reviews
- Review and upload chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) to electronic library
- High school diploma or GED associate degree or higher level education preferred
- Minimum 3 years or more of work experience in mining, construction, manufacturing, environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Basic understanding of construction safety
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Able to become First Aid, and CPR Certified to rapidly respond to employee health emergencies and activate emergency procedures
- Self Starter with the ability to lead without direction when needed
- Available for weekend work as needed
- Well organized, excellent attention to details and a passion for all things Environment, Health and Safety
- Evidence of exceptional ability: Clear communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt quickly to changes
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

- Support incident investigations and help implement sustainable corrective measures
- Collaborate on environmental initiatives, including waste management and air/water quality programs
- Track and analyze EHS metrics to identify trends and influence strategy
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 4+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Ability to interpret technical data and communicate effectively at all levels
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar)
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs
- Hands-on experience with EHS software platforms and data analysis
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills with frontline teams
- Bilingual in English/Spanish

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to help drive a strong safety culture at our manufacturing facility in Addison, TX. In this role, you'll lead and support initiatives that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace-empowering our teams to do their best work while keeping safety top of mind.
Our Team
You'll partner and collaborate with a results-driven EHS team within our manufacturing operations group. We partner closely with plant leadership, engineering, and frontline employees to deliver impactful safety solutions and promote continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture through proactive risk assessments and engagement
