What you will be doing:
The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will provide administrative and support services within the Department of Environmental Health and Safety. Manages safety violation policy and remains up to date on changes in safety regulation policy as well as new company safety initiatives.
- Tracks, documents, and catalogs all safety metrics KPI's using contract management applications.
- Assists in tracking compliance status and OSHA incident logs through SEA dashboards.

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; handle and manipulate controls on a repetitive basis.
Strong visual and auditory acuity, able to distinguish back-up alarms, voices, and other typical construction site sounds to ensure site safety.
Ability to climb in and out of equipment and handle equipment safely.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as necessary for site safety and maintenance activities.
Environmental Adaptability:
Work in various weather conditions and across different locations and times of day. The role requires outdoor work and the ability to adapt to changing environmental factors.
Required to wear protective gear including a hard hat, hearing and eye protection, and high-visibility clothing as per job site safety protocols.
Training and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in safety engineering or auditing within the construction industry, with a proven track record of ensuring safe, efficient operations on site development, industrial, and mechanical projects (e.g., water/wastewater treatment plants, heavy civil construction, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of OSHA safety standards (29 CFR 1926), with a required OSHA 30 certification; OSHA 510 certification is highly preferred.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CSM, CSMC, CSHM, CHST, CSP, and COSS are strongly preferred; the ideal candidate will be actively pursuing or willing to pursue additional certifications to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage all levels of staff-from field employees to senior leadership-ensuring alignment on safety priorities.
- Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining a laser focus on safety and compliance.
- Proven ability to work independently, with a strong sense of self-motivation, proactivity in identifying safety challenges, and the initiative to develop and implement solutions for continuous safety improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, safety management software, data analysis tools, and database management for tracking and improving safety performance across projects.
