YOUR ROLE

Assist with processing, or processes Inbound or Outbound shipments. Responsible for documentation and preparation of documents, or document receipt; timely clearance of shipments or traffic coordination to correctly process shipments.   • Coordinate the release of goods from the carrier or governmental agency examinations that may be required.
  • Ensure customer profile information is entered and updated in the appropriate company system for any customers; prepares quotations, letters, and communications as directed.
  • Manage pre-alerts daily to determine whether freight is arriving as expected and ocean documents are received within time standard specified.
  • Actively pursue a better understanding of the process through self-study, as well as courses and seminars presented by approved sources.
  • Improve understanding and knowledge of the established system, in both its basic and advanced features.
  • Perform Import/Export Specialist I responsibilities, when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years related experience.
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Freight Coordination:
    • Book and schedule regional truck shipments and air freight to move inventory between DCs and from vendors as needed.
    • Track inbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively manage any delays or disruptions.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external freight partners to align on timelines, service levels, and requirements.
  • Freight Billing & Auditing:
    • Review and audit freight invoices in partnership with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and freight audit partners.

Summary

Essential Functions
•Responsible for obtaining and organizing vendor parts for trade data to be input in system (AX).

•Contact Suppliers to obtain foreign trade data, Country of Origin and FTA certificates.
•Validating Suppliers Certificate of Origin, and upon approval from Import/Export Manager or HTS classifier, issue Certificates of Origin for Shipments going to Lancermex.
•Analyze and validate foreign trade data received from suppliers.
•Under the guidance of the Import Export Manager and HTS Classifier, comply with all governmental regulations related to Certificates of Origin for imports and exports.
•Issuing, filing and sending to US Customs Broker Importer's Declarations for northbound shipments previously sent (exported) from Lancer to Lancermex and returned (imported) to Lancer without being advanced in value or condition (9801 entries).
•Filling, when required AES Export Declarations for Lancer's export shipments to customers in other countries.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Conduct reviews of technical documentation, files, and other items to assign export and HTS classifications to ensure compliance with the applicable import or export regulations.
•Maintain a working knowledge of changes in import and export laws and regulations.
•Participate in continual improvement process related to Compliance Program and manage document revisions of internal controls and procedures.
•Conducts periodic export and import self-assessments (compliance audits) and implements any necessary corrective actions.
•Ensure Import Export trade records are maintained in accordance with government and internal Lancer's Record Keeping procedures.
•Strong collaboration with procurement, financial, tax, product marketing, logistics, order entry, and engineering functions as required.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Customs Entry Writer** to join our team. In this critical role, you'll ensure imported goods are processed smoothly and legally, working closely with customs officials, clients, and transportation partners.
This is a **remote position** , and all necessary equipment will be provided.
Ensure products arrive to the correct locations timely, while certifying all safety regulations are met when moving between state/province/region/territory lines. Responsible for the accurate filing of Customer Profile entries.
Job Description
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare and process import documentation in compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
+ Ensure all shipments meet applicable federal and international laws.
+ Communicate with customs officials to facilitate timely and compliant imports.
+ Calculate and process duties, tariffs, and taxes on goods.
+ Classify products using the appropriate tariff codes (HTS classification).
+ Collaborate with clients, customs agents, and logistics partners to ensure seamless deliveries.
+ Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
+ Stay current on changes in import/export laws and regulatory updates.
+ Advise clients on tariffs, restrictions, insurance requirements, quotas, and other customs-related matters.
**Requirements:**
+ Proven experience as a Customs Entry Writer or within customs brokerage operations.
+ Familiarity with U.S. Customs procedures and entry types (ISF, 7501, etc.).
+ Strong understanding of U.S. import regulations and documentation.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Clear and professional communication skills-both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
+ Proficiency with relevant software and data entry systems.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience using **CargoWise** or similar customs brokerage platforms.
+ Background in international shipping and logistics operations.

SUMMARY: Provides logistics and customs support for all areas of the Supply Chain including but not limited to import/export, customs compliance, supply chain planning and distribution of products within the Western hemisphere.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Streamlines the flow of materials (customs brokers, distributors, freight forwarders etc.) to Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) locations while creating, maintaining, and providing proper documentation for Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) compliance.
  • Schedules the receipt of international shipments (air, ocean and over the road) with customs brokers (customs clearance), freight companies.
  • Determines and inputs all tariff classifications within internal parts database and ad-hoc requests.
  • Oversees import/export policies to ensure compliance with US and international government rules and regulations and conducts reviews of U.S. Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with federal law and regulations.
  • Monitors and reports on current events or changes to the supply chain, customs laws and regulations.
  • Collaborates in conducting internal review of processes, compilation of broker evaluations, review and updates of procedure manuals.
  • Provides input and recommends changes to training programs for NOA personnel involved in import/export of Nintendo products.
  • Communicates compliance issues to internal departments such as Legal, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Communicates with US Customs and other government agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) & Food and Drug Administration with respect to NOA products and development equipment at time of importation.
  • Manages issuance of Carnet’s for trade show and marketing shoots outside of the United States.
  • Acts as liaison between NOA and carriers to identify and resolve carrier service failures.
  • Review audit of service provider invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Serves as a member of the trade compliance team that supports Customs and Border Protection (CBP) programs such as but not limited to Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) and Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
  • Processes international export shipments, creating documents and submitting Electronic Export Information (EEI) to the Automated Export System (AES) for export clearance.
  • Reviews and approves all duty and tax payments for shipments into the US (US Customs) and Canada (Revenue Canada via goods and service tax).

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to three years of experience with Supply Chain processes, including import/export experience (creation of documentation such as commercial invoice, bill of lading, carnet’s and shipper export declarations).
  • Strong knowledge of harmonized tariff schedule, general notes, and Customs and Border Protection regulations.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and achieve results in a fast-paced customs environment.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with government agencies, service providers, and senior levels of management in a concise manner.
  • Analysis and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make recommendations supported by data.
  • MS office Proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Knowledge of iSeries and Oracle Applications.
