We are seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers to manage and maintain mechanical systems, including large commercial equipment and rooftop HVAC units, across a small area of commercial buildings. You will perform maintenance duties at various office buildings downtown and ensure that all systems are functioning optimally.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain and repair all mechanical systems such as large commercial equipment and rooftop HVAC units.
+ Oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
+ Ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems in commercial buildings.
+ Conduct routine maintenance duties at office buildings downtown.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in HVAC, facilities maintenance, and building systems.
+ Proficiency with chillers and facilities maintenance.
+ 1+ years of experience with hands-on maintenance of commercial HVAC units (3+ years preferred).
+ Chiller and boiler experience is highly preferred.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repair skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a professional and clean-cut environment.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
Facilities Tradesman I will be required to keep electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems operational and in good working order. They will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing other components within the facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Upkeep of electrical lighting system: lamps, ballasts, lighting control system, outdoor lighting, and parking lots
+ Maintain business critical electrical systems: Generators, UPS systems, transfer switches, Data centers, and monitoring systems
+ Facilitates reliability for building Interior Safety that includes Life Safety Systems
+ Facilitates Building Exterior Safety Conditions (Landscaping, Snow Removal and verifying there are safe conditions throughout the property)
+ Facilitates optimal environmental conditions for the data center computer rooms so that electrical loads and cooling systems can provide reliability for work personnel through the HVAC and Fire System contractors. The facilities team oversees Building Automation to monitor and ensure reliability
+ Facilitates workplace environmental conditions such as Building Heating and Air Conditioning, maintaining (Boilers, Chillers, Air Handlers, Heat Pumps, Liebert's, pumps, heat exchangers, and building relief fans) with onsite HVAC Contractors
+ Facilitates work with Outside vendors on service and maintenance for all sites (Scheduled and Emergency)
+ Facilitates Concerts, Holiday, and BBQ set-ups
+ Facilitates general maintenance repairs such as building and bathroom plumbing, bathroom dispensing fixtures and support equipment, drywall, doors, and carpeting
+ Facilitates in the upkeep of the cafeteria operations, (equipment, fire systems, and exhaust systems)
+ Works with outside vendors and contractors
+ Facilitate all other duties as required by the Facilities Department
**Skills, Experience and Requirements**
**Education and Experience:**
+ Trade experience that includes electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
+ Preferred; 2 years experience in vendor relations
+ Preferred: prior trade school and/or facilities training
+ Must be able to work on call hours throughout the year as needed
**Skills and Qualifications:**
+ Good written and oral communication skills; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, or their designee, and provides continuous mechanical and electrical support service and repairs necessary to effectively maintain the safe operation of Kaiser Permanente facilities. Resolve and document all trouble calls relating to mechanical and electrical equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Responds to and resolves emergency maintenance calls.
+ Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, physical structure and associated equipment, including mechanical, electrical repairs and other duties relating to facility maintenance.
+ Performs watch standing activities on physical plant equipment, including chemical analysis and treatment.
+ Checks and replenishes supplies of fuel, materials, maintenance supplies, and repair parts.
+ Performs fire and life safety inspections, and maintains appropriate records.
+ Properly identifies and documents work which needs to be performed on equipment.
+ Maintains appropriate documentation of work performed.
+ Evaluates building equipment and systems; recommends changes, additions or deletions.
+ Assists with new building or expansion start-ups when needed.
+ Assists with snow and ice removal when needed.
+ Performs building maintenance, repairs as required.
+ Performs building inspections and equipment safety testing as required.
+ Performs all related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or the Chief Engineer, or their designee.
+ Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and clear communication both verbal and written.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
+ Journeyman Stationary Engineer or five (5) years experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance and repair.
Education
+ High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
+ Limited Maintenance Electrician License (Oregon) within 3 months of hire
+ Refrigerator Piping Installers Certificate within 3 months of hire
+ Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate within 3 months of hire
Additional Requirements:
+ Able to use all tools of the trade.
+ Able to read and interpret wiring schematics and blueprints.
+ Able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
+ Able to maintain high quality standards in a health care environment.
+ Able to complete written documentation of all assigned work.
+ Able to operate personal computers write basic building automation programs.
+ Able to read/interpret blueprints.
