Job Description:
The Building Maintenance Carpenter is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate safety when using construction tools.
- Must be a self-starter and needs to express quality service to our facilities and demonstrate people skills to our associates.
- Must be able to lift over 50lbs as well as set and climb a 30' extension ladder.
- Finish carpentry skills.
- Applicant will have working knowledge for all construction trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry/concrete and door/window repairs).
- Painting and drywall skills are a must.
- Experienced in VCT and carpet installation.
- Experienced in ceramic wall tile and quarry tile installation.
- Experienced in door and hardware (related items to doors) installations and repairs.
- Knowledge of plumbing and basic electrical skills, stairs, gates, fences, patios, and hand railings installation/repairs.
- Cleaning of rain gutters and downspouts.
- Repairing of doors (metal & wooden), cabinets (metal & wooden).
- Cleaning of ceiling tiles, grills/diffusers, and grid work.
Supervisory Requirements:
This position does not have any direct reports but will oversee 2-3 internal associates.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years' experience in strong carpentry and construction backgrounds. They must demonstrate safety when using construction tools in and around our facilities and associates. In addition, requires computer skills, Microsoft Outlook and Service Now Call Tracking system with basic operations of iPhone and iPad knowledge.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read a tape measure, basic math skills, addition/subtraction.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Strong ability to reach schematics, troubleshoot root cause, and implement repairs to restore flow of equipment

We have an immediate need for an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department in Bloomsburg, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of 480V troubleshooting and installation and the ability to work in a team setting but will also feel confident enough to complete some smaller tasks independently. This position is "hands-on" and the individual should have a self-starter mindset.
What you can expect to be doing:
- Conduct daily and weekly preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial hydraulic and pneumatic machinery
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial equipment installations
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
- May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Repair, install, and adjust industrial extrusion machinery
- Able to work an 9-hour day shift
- The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.
What we are looking for in our hire:
REQUIRED Prior work experience
- 3+ years of experience working with 480V 3-phase electrical
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production machinery or other related machinery
- Welding and Fabrication experience a plus but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job
- Must be able to be on-call if necessary
Preferred work experience/knowledge
- Rigging and heavy equipment experience a plus
- Knowledge of pipe threading for air hydraulic and electrical piping
- Understand lockout procedures and ARC flash protection/dangers
- Able to use scissor lifts, boom/aerial lifts, and forklifts
