Job Responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Maintenance Technicians will repair/maintain all production/facility equipment and perform project work. This position requires a high regard for safety at all times in performing any tasks associated with working for Harris Products Group.

This person will work safely and supports safety within their team across the organization. Completes weekly maintenance schedule and makes safe, quality & timely repairs to ensure weekly production schedule is completed. Supports lean initiatives to facilitate team goals/metrics. Participates in team meetings and works on cost savings projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes weekly maintenance schedule
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Schedule repairs of equipment
  • Performs fabrication, pipe fitting, welding, brazing & soldering
  • Operates material handling equipment, scissor lift and manipulating man lift when needed
  • Works on team projects, Six Sigma projects and provides support for other team meetings and projects.
  • Correctly fills our work orders and time sheets
Job Requirements

Education and Experience: 

Required -

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good trouble shooting skills in mechanical and pneumatic systems for production machinery and support equipment.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical and pneumatic prints
  • Must be computer literate
  • Operate material handling equipment, scissor lift and manipulating man lift

Preferred-

  • Experienced in welding, fabricating and pipe fitting.
  • Experience with Lean tools
  • Able to read and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
  • Understand ladder logic for relays and PLCs
  • Familiar with Allen Bradley PLCs, SLC, Micro Logix and Control Logix
  • Familiar with Logix 500, Logix 5000 and RSLinx
  • Familiar with operation of HMIs (touch screens)
  • Be able to install and set up AC & DC drives
  • Familiar with NEC as applies to Industrial applications

Building Maintenance Engineer
**Job Description Summary**
Responsible to ensure the proper efficient operations and maintenance of the mechanical electrical and plumbing systems for the assigned facility. The performance of all necessary maintenance and operational tasks are developed to assure maximum life and reliability of all mechanical/ electrical/plumbing systems. Typically, this position does not have a Chief Engineer on-site at the building and is sometimes the solo engineer at the building. This position may also include the supervision of maintenance staff at the building depending on the size and complexity of the assignment.
**Job Description**
- Assist with or conduct the daily operations and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and general maintenance requirements for the buildings
- Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign, and monitor maintenance activities and projects
- Perform preventive maintenance duties, including changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps, ballasts and fixtures, Inspecting and adjusting belts, replacing motor bearings, aligning shafts, and other inspections and maintenance recommended by equipment manufacturers
- Recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program on an ongoing basis
- Develop and maintain effective building-specific maintenance procedures
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians
- Maintain stock and inventory control
- Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits
- Ensure management team is informed of current building operations by compiling and submitting monthly reports
- Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually.
- Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours

**About the role**

Working under limited supervision when supporting assigned service calls, uses intermediate skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, building systems and equipment, and grounds within a geographical area/route. Uses several trade skills such as, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. Must be flexible on schedule.
**Responsibilities**
+ Aligns with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
+ Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Complete maintenance and repairs records.
+ Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders' materials and supplies to finish the tasks. Applies CMMS to handle work orders and supervise completion.
+ Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems. This includes: plumbing systems, roofs, drains, shop doors.
+ Inspects building systems including fire alarms and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
+ Coordinates and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.
+ Supports an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
+ Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps. Performs carpentry, furniture assembly, door repairs, plumbing and locksmith tasks as needed.

Duties

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance on equipment, clean line and other plant machinery.
  • Document and maintain records of equipment including, technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair vacuum systems, with proficiency in high-voltage components.
  • Assess and repair maintenance needs, strategizing downtime equipment
  • Collaborate with managers and engineers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and efficient workspace.
  • Provide assistance for all mechanical and electrical needs.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial manufacturing environment maintenance experience. Degree/Certification in Engineering, Technical or Trade education preferred; diploma/GED minimum required education. Experience with Vacuum Technology. Strong ability with understanding failure mechanisms, ability to isolate determine root cause, and repair. Strong electrical skills. Working knowledge of control systems, PLC controls. Able to work independently, is a self-starter, and is highly motivated to complete projects and meet deadlines. Possess good communication skills; able to clearly communicate with peers, management, and suppliers, both verbally and in email communication. Available to work overtime and weekends as required. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check and physical screening. Able to travel on occasion to other U.S. Centers and internationally as needed.

Perform preventative maintenance, general maintenance and repairs of all facilities. Including general maintenance, heating and cooling, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, electrical and other related maintenance projects.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Read, interpret, and diagnose problems from work requests, schematics and blueprints, verbal and written instructions.
  • Prepare technical reports and accurately describe conditions and work performed.
  • Advise on preventative maintenance inspections performed and suggest additional service/renovation requirements using knowledge of the cost of labor, materials and time necessary to complete projects. Determine if projects should be completed in-house or contracted out.
  • Perform all maintenance work orders and any additional repairs as required.
  • Must observe all OSHA and safety standards when working on maintenance projects.
  • Perform position in a professional manner while building and maintaining relationships with vendors, subcontractors and building occupants.
  • Required to participate in an on-call program responding to emergency calls.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
