Job Description

TIAA's Corporate Controller group is looking for a Senior Manager for the Statutory Financial Reporting team. The Statutory Financial Reporting Team is responsible for regulatory and analytical reporting for the Company's general and separate accounts. This role is responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the team's reporting, both internally and externally.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
+ Direct and manage the preparation of the quarterly fluctuation analysis, including accumulating financial support, performing an analytical review of the data, and networking with business partners to gather input into key trends/drivers, and significant changes for each quarter.
+ Direct and manage the preparation of monthly financial statements, including performing and documenting analytical reviews of the results.
+ Manage the preparation and perform review of the annual audited statutory financial statement and the quarterly and annual non-audited statutory financial statement (blue book) footnotes. Ensure their completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the New York Department of Financial Services requirements and Statutory Accounting Principles.
+ Prepare executive level financial reporting for presentation to the quarterly Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee, and Executive Management Team meetings.
+ Manage the completion of various regulatory reports, including the annual Management Discussion and Analysis, estimated GAAP financial statements, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
+ Provide audit support to internal/external auditors and serve as liaison for the external auditors. Maintain a sound internal control environment, create efficiencies and strengthen operating controls. Comply with and maintain all SOX procedures and controls.
+ Keep abreast of all new accounting and reporting regulations and participate in various industry working groups to ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles. Research, interpret and apply accounting guidance and coordinate with the Accounting Policy team to ensure appropriate application of accounting principles.
+ Network with senior personnel to expand knowledge, gain insight, and influence outcomes.

This role requires an individual who is self-motivated and ready to work in a collaborative team environment. The analyst will partner with program management teams to analyze and understand their financial position. This position will be responsible for monthly customer financial reports, verifying actual cost reporting, providing variance analysis, and supporting monthly closing activities.
Duties:

**Job Description Summary**
The role within the Model and Testing Standards Oversight (MTSO) team will support the development and oversight of processes, standards, and controls across the model lifecycle in which Global Risk Analytics (GRA) / Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) models are executed. The team collaborates with different GRA model development groups to evolve best practices and with Model Risk Management to adapt to changes in Enterprise and Regulatory requirements and expectations.
**Responsibilities**
- Development and oversight of model management processes and standards, including model development, performance monitoring, implementation, and usage.
- Perform critical analysis and assess feedback from model development groups on processes, controls, and metrics design/optimization across model lifecycle.
- Assess impact from changes to Enterprise and Regulatory requirements, lead implementation of changes to processes and provide ad-hoc consultancy and resolution of process enquiries.
- Support the development of corresponding workflow infrastructure / technology for model related processes.
- Project manage change initiatives, defining discrete actions, timelines, and tracking to completion.
- Enhancing ongoing monitoring and related risk management capabilities.
- Support model-related regulatory engagements and the compilation of regulatory materials.
- Participate in Quality Control routines across model lifecycle, analyze results and provide feedback, formulate actions and identify process improvements.
- Provide support on an ad-hoc basis to other non-model related horizontal MTSO team initiatives.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- Minimum 4 years' experience in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge / experience in model risk management practices / related regulatory requirements.
- Degree in a relevant quantitative discipline.
- Good analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Highly organized and able to execute multiple priorities.

**Overview of Global Risk Analytics and Enterprise Independent Testing**
Global Risk Analytics (GRA) is a sub-line of business within Global Risk Management (GRM). GRA is responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of models and analytical tools for effective Risk and Capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America. In addition to model development, GRA conducts model implementation, data management, model execution and analysis, forecast administration, and model performance monitoring. The team drives innovation, process improvement and automation across all of these activities.
Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) is the centralized, independent testing function within GRM focused on operating as an enterprise utility to test processes and controls that require testing across the company. EIT's testing provides business leaders visibility of their process and control effectiveness, which enables early risk detection and the mitigation of operational risk. As a center of excellence, EIT conducts independent testing throughout the year globally, providing ongoing feedback to monitor and improve processes. EIT tests processes and controls on behalf of the Second Line of Defense, Front Line Units (FLUs) and Control Functions (CFs), enabling more efficient and effective testing.

This role (P4) will provide leadership, development, and direction to the R2S Joint Venture. The candidate will be responsible for various financial functions to support execution, ensure data integrity, and adhere to company policies. **What You Will Do:**

**Responsibilities:**
+ Contract/Vistex Agreement Maintenance:
+ Own the completeness, accuracy, validity, and timeliness of Agreement data in Vistex for assigned accounts.
+ Owns responsibility of rebate documentation including all supporting data analysis, SOX documentation and approvals.
+ Maintain contact with Sales, Finance, and Master Data process teams to ensure alignment to Vistex Agreement usage and raise issues for resolution.

+ Manage applicable schedules to fulfil contractual obligations and deadlines for rebate accounts.

+ Active participant as the subject matter expert for Rebates on projects.
+ Participates in the development of system and process transition and implementation plans.

**Overview**
The Director, Commercial Finance serves as a business partner to the Corporate Commercial team in optimizing/maximizing profit and delivering gross margin performance through effective pricing, promotions, and programming analysis.
