About the Role:
We are seeking a Strategic Finance Manager with a strong foundation in accounting principles to join our GTM Finance team. This position qualifies under the Accountant category of the TN visa, emphasizing work in financial reporting, GAAP compliance, budgeting, and analytical support for core business functions.
The base compensation range for this position for candidates in the SF Bay Area is: $130,000 - $194,000. For all other locations, the base compensation range is based on the primary work location of the candidate, as our ranges are location-specific. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skillset, years of experience, and depth of experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Apply GAAP principles to prepare, interpret, and analyze financial statements related to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services.
- Lead financial planning and budgeting processes for assigned departments, including revenue, expense, and headcount forecasting.
- Analyze variances between budgeted and actual financial results; prepare reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and improve internal accounting controls, documentation, and financial policies for GTM-related activities.
- Compile and present periodic financial reports for leadership, including P&L statements, cost tracking reports, and margin analysis.
- Support audit processes and ensure financial documentation complies with internal standards and external regulatory guidelines.

- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is highly preferred
- 5-8 years of FP&A or Strategic Finance experience, preferably in SaaS
- Experience supporting GTM functions
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and reporting standards

The UCSF Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ONHS) at the University of California, San Francisco is a recognized leader in clinical care, research, and education. The Department of ONHS consists of 9 clinical divisions performing ~83,000 procedures including General Otolaryngology; Pediatric Otolaryngology; Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery & Endocrine Surgery; Laryngology; Otology/Neurotology, & Skull Base Surgery; Rhinology & Sinus Surgery; Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery; Sleep Surgery; and Audiology. Outpatient and inpatient clinical activities are performed across 7 sites across the SF Bay area - Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, Zuckerberg San Francisco General, San Francisco VA, Redwood Shores, and Berkeley Outpatient Clinic. The Department of OHNS also consists of 5 research laboratories with ~ 11M in sponsored research revenue in FY24/FY25 - Coleman Memorial Laboratory, Speech Neuroscience Laboratory, Epstein Laboratories, Head & Neck Cancer Research, and Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Lab.

Position Overview Reporting to the Finance Coordinator, the Finance Associate will assist in managing finances. This role is based primarily in our Oakland office, with additional responsibilities linked to our San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to serving underserved Asian and Pacific Islander communities and BIPOC communities in the Greater Bay Area.
