Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I, the incumbent independently performs complex and difficult accounting assignments for Accounting Systems Unit. The incumbent responsibilities are establishment and maintenance of accounts, financial reports, establish and maintain various tables and reports, preparing statistics, running labor, running cost allocations process, reports including daily, monthly, and year-end. General knowledge of the state's Financial Information System for California (FI$CAL); the preparation of the Annual Year End Financial Reports and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) requirements. The incumbent is required to independently analyze existing policies, procedures, and automated accounting and fiscal systems to modify and implement to meet current business needs. The incumbent will perform liaison duties with co-workers, internal departmental staff, external customers, and control agencies.

- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close process

Primary contact for external auditors and assuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Analysis of financial data to ensure the accurate, timely and proper accounting of financial statements while maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger. Maintenance of accounting practices to ensure that financial and budgeting/operating data accurately reflect business conditions and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. This position reports to the VP of Finance.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close process
+ Ensure compliance and submission of tax reporting and payments, including multi-state sales tax.
+ FAR and CAS compliance
+ Own the SOX compliance and narrative maintenance
+ Manage payroll accuracy and sign off
+ Manage the coordination of activities with Teledyne AR and AP shared service
+ Responsible for all financial accounting matters
+ Assist with Fixed Assets
+ Support the general Accounting function as required
+ Other tasks as assigned based on business needs
**Job Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
+ Knowledge of General Accounting Principles
+ Five years' general accounting experience desired, Cost Accounting experience a plus
+ Experience in a manufacturing-based company required
+ Basic MS Excel skills required
+ Experience with an ERP or MRP System a plus. Oracle and/ or SAP knowledge a plus.
+ ASC606 experience is a plus
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

**Salary Range:**
$77,000.00-$102,600.000

The **Financial Accounting Analyst** is responsible for supporting all month-close functions, including closing, analysis, reporting as well as providing project leadership.
**How You Will Make an Impact**

+ Reviews and prepares interpretation of accounting transactions and results.
+ Prepares financial, business and process presentations.
+ Identifies complex accounting problems or issues related to workflow processes, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to achieve higher level of operational efficiency.

**Minimum Requirements:**
Requires BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years accounting experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
**Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:**
+ CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
+ Previous work experience with month end close processes, account reconciliation and statutory accounting principles preferred.
