Financial Consultant Investments

The role of the Financial Consultant Investments is to establish value-added relationships with customers to understand their financial needs and to offer solutions for those needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting within the financial institution by establishing relationships with other client facing associates in order to generate referrals.
  • Prospect outside the financial institution in order to build external referral sources as well as bringing new clients to the bank.
  • Sell effectively by establishing relationships with customers, determining their needs and offering appropriate solutions in a manner that the customer sees the value, as well as understands the features and benefits of the products offered.
  • Engage in customer relationship management activities to increase wallet share per client and seek cross referral opportunities to other associates within the bank.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and experience:

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 19 to 23 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication skills:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

Critical thinking skills:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Required certificates, licenses, registrations:

NASD Series 7- currently maintain or must pass within 90 days

NASD Series 66- currently maintain or must pass within 90 days

Preferred certificates, licenses, registrations:

Certified Financial Planner, Certified Financial Analyst or other high level certifications in the investment field.

Software skills required:

Advanced: Contact Management, Database, Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet

Intermediate: Word Processing/Typing

Basic: Accounting

Job Summary

The Manager of Financial Planning and Investments for Avangrid will provide support to the Controller and the Business Analysis and Planning Executive Director across the Control organization. The position requires a strong specialization in Finance, valuation techniques and a good understanding of the energy markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the long term financial projections of Avangrid (AGR) for Investor's day, rating agencies presentation and Group consolidation.
  • Assist in the preparation of appropriate analysis and presentations to communicate and explain the long term plan to Avangrid Corporate Control, appropriate Avangrid Committees and Board and Iberdrola Control.
  • Monitor business developments and quantify impact on the plans and business valuation
  • Assist in the coordination of the Goodwill Impairment testing for both IFRS and GAAP promoting the development of the adequate procedures for the satisfactory and timely delivery of the tests by all the businesses.
  • Supervise and participate in the completion of the internal controls related to the Goodwill Impairment testing process.
  • Coordinate interaction with auditors and preparation of information requests.
  • Support the application of the investment standard for Avangrid ensuring that all investment proposals are appropriately documented, aligned with the Long Term Plan and Budget and in compliance with Avangrid Investment Standard requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of analyses and reports for Avangrid Control, Iberdrola Control and Avangrid Committees and Boards, which provide an independent view of the risks and earnings/profitability volatility inherent in all investment plans, budgets and forecasts.
  • Analysis of deviations compared to the Plan and Dossiers.
  • Support the analysis and valuation of non-organic growth opportunities, such as potential future Company acquisitions.
  • Support the Purchase Price Allocation work in case of new acquisitions.
  • Support the Financial planning & Investments - Director, Avangrid Controllers and senior management, by undertaking ad-hoc project activities, utilizing business knowledge, and present recommendations to enable senior management to take appropriate action
  • This position will be required to deputize for the Planning & Investments Director in their absence.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree required with minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in the finance/control area. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Expert knowledge in Finance and enterprise valuation techniques
    • Strong financial modeling skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel/spreadsheets
