Position Overview:

The internship program offers hands-on experience in game operations and game presentation. Interns will learn various skills while working closely with all members of the Ghost Pirates Front Office on gamedays (36 Home Games).

• Assist with performance groups including anthem singers, color guards, and intermission acts and other on ice activities.
• Manage the DJ booth and assist our production team during games as needed.
• Manage the Chuck-A-Puck table and 50/50 Raffle booth throughout games.
• Assist with the set up and tear-down preparation on game days.
• Attend office hours during the week to gain experience in ticket sales, corporate fulfillment, business administration, marketing, and more.

Internship Requirements
• Working towards a four-year college degree or graduate degree or recent graduate in Marketing, Business Administration, or Sports Management
• Housing and transportation in the Savannah Area
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Strong professional attitude
• Experience in the sports industry preferred.
• Available to work every home game.

The ideal candidate is located in/near the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, enrolled in a class or program which provides them with academic credit for the completion of an internship, and carries his/herself with a willingness to learn, grow, and put their best foot forward.

The beginning of this internship will coincide with the start of the Fall 2025 Academic Semester . The Norfolk Admirals season will take place from October 2025 to April 2026 . Interns will be encouraged to continue the internship for the duration of the season, but a schedule which ends with the Fall Semester is fine as well. The job duties of Game Day Operations Interns are the following:

Game Days

  • Be present and prepared to work for every assigned shift
  • Be available for all 36 scheduled Admirals home games
  • Assist Admirals staff in preparing the arena for the public
  • Provide exceptional customer service to fans at all times throughout games, including processing orders at our Merchandise Stand and fulfilling in-game activities
  • Execute activations both on- and off-ice to enhance fan engagement/entertainment, sponsor fulfillments, and marketing opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance with the game timelines and game day information.
  • Ensure all aspects of the USL W League Minimum Standards for home games are met.
  • Follow the Game Day Timeline provided by the Director of Operations.
  • Act as away team liaison: welcoming away teams to the facility and providing hospitality to visiting referees, coaches, and fans.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Ability to pass comprehensive background check. Attend and pass SafeSport training.
  • Friendly, customer-driven attitude.
  • Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment
  • Sound knowledge of the United States pre-professional soccer landscape.
  • Enthusiasm for the team, sports, and women's soccer.
  • Successful prior promotional leadership is highly desired.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Founded in 2008, Lancaster Inferno fields a women's pre-professional soccer team that competes in the USL W League. The First Team roster is composed of players who want to pursue their professional aspirations and features current/post college players and former professionals.

This position is responsible for duties such as collecting tickets, welcoming and ushering guests, and providing superior customer service. Event Staff team members are also responsible for directing foot traffic, and ensuring the cleanliness, operational efficiency and maintenance of designated areas.
**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** : Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Assists in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
+ Allows appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
+ Demonstrates an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities and events.
+ Initiates a genuine, friendly and personal greeting to our guests as they arrive at your facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location, and a sincere thank you as you complete your encounter with each guest.
+ Provides guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.
+ Interactions with guests include a smile and use of a natural speaking voice, including natural inflection and a friendly tone.
**QUALIFICATIONS:** To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or experience required. + Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent).

+ Be professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
+ Must be able to work overtime as needed.
+ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
