Position description:
+ Serves as lead manager responsible for delivery of lab data processing services, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) lab processing.
+ Performs analysis, development, implementation of processing approaches and quality checks for electronic files and related mapping, geospatial services pursuant to applicable ESI specifications.
+ Creates maps/reports and related deliverables based on customer request, including posting maps and related geospatial data to an internal GIS Portal.
+ Works closely with customer's information technology staff as necessary to ensure implementation, installation, testing and maintaining of GIS related systems and software.
+ Responsible for informing Government COR of all deadlines, technical challenges, resource availability, personnel assignments, priorities and progress reporting specifications.
+ Consults with attorneys and support staff on best practices for confirming GIS specifications
+ Participates in teleconferences with co-counsel, client agencies and opposing counsel upon attorney request.
+ Responsible for ensuring incoming mapping and geospatial request are made pursuant to applicable GIS specifications.
+ Provides case attorneys detail notice of deficiencies when found.
+ Conduct presentations, utilizes video clips and prepares GIS training material.
Required Qualifications:
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ Undergraduate degree required; preferably in computer science or related field.
+ Requires thorough knowledge of GIS concepts and a variety of mapping software/products: ESR's ARCGIS Pro, Network Analyst, ARCGIS Portal and ARCGIS Online.
+ Must have thorough knowledge of computer graphics and demographic data products: US Census Bureau Tiger data, Census PL94-171 data and American Community Survey/ACS data or demographic data from various sources.
+ Must have at least five years of management/supervisory experience
+ Minimum of five years' experience supporting GIS processing.
+ Requires broad knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation networks, PC and server-based databases and applications.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
+ Ability to lead a technical team, and provide direction, will be very important.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze attorney needs.
Preferred:
+ Experience in a litigation support environment extremely helpful.

DUTIES:
This position is responsible for assisting in the production and maintenance of enterprise geospatial datasets and related cartographic and mapping functions. The work includes maintaining and updating the central database using GIS and related software packages, collecting and reviewing source data and manuscripts from government agencies, and assembling and preparing data for distribution. This position also requires the general application of technical and cartographic skills associated with the design, layout and production of maps, (hardcopy and digital) publications and graphics. General supervision is received from administrative personnel. Does related work as required.
EXAMPLES:
- Performs geographic information systems (GIS) database development, entry-level programming functions and basic map-making functions associated with the central GIS database;
- Performs maintenance of enterprise database layers including street centerline files and associated address ranges;
- Provides GIS support to departments by extracting information from databases to produce maps and other materials denoting information such as tax parcels, watersheds, census geography and other features;
- Performs basic technical programming and database management functions in support of special projects;
- Converts geographic data from hardcopy and electronic maps;
- Performs traditional cartographic and mapping functions as needed;
- Assists in providing GIS support for planning feasibility studies and presentiation, and to prepare reports and provide statistical documentation;
- Reviews with supervisor the priority and feasibility of assigned projects;
- Attends meetings and conferences as assigned;
- Attends staff meetings to discuss unit and departmental activities;
- Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.

a) Possession of a regionally accredited or New York State registered four year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Information Systems or a related field; or
b) Possession of a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college or university with an Associate's Degree in Graphic Information Systems or a related field and two (2) years of experience in utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) or related mapping; or
c) An equivalent combination of education/training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

DUTIES:
This position is responsible for assisting in the production and maintenance of enterprise geospatial datasets and related cartographic and mapping functions. The work includes maintaining and updating the central database using GIS and related software packages, collecting and reviewing source data and manuscripts from government agencies, and assembling and preparing data for distribution. This position also requires the general application of technical and cartographic skills associated with the design, layout and production of maps, (hardcopy and digital) publications and graphics. General supervision is received from administrative personnel. Does related work as required.
EXAMPLES:
- Performs geographic information systems (GIS) database development, entry-level programming functions and basic map-making functions associated with the central GIS database;
- Performs maintenance of enterprise database layers including street centerline files and associated address ranges;
- Provides GIS support to departments by extracting information from databases to produce maps and other materials denoting information such as tax parcels, watersheds, census geography and other features;
- Performs basic technical programming and database management functions in support of special projects;
- Converts geographic data from hardcopy and electronic maps;
- Performs traditional cartographic and mapping functions as needed;
- Assists in providing GIS support for planning feasibility studies and presentiation, and to prepare reports and provide statistical documentation;

Position Summary
The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands ( CEMML ) is hiring GIS Specialists to join our Fort Collins, Colorado office. The GIS Specialists will be integral members of our interdisciplinary team of environmental and cultural resource specialists. Our purpose is to support federal land managers in ensuring that military activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Job Overview: Provide services and support as a Regional Cultural Resources Identification Field Guides (Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist) in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Industry Sector focussing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) | The Farm Production and Conservation Business Center (FPAC) Environmental Activities Division (ENV). Generally Located In CONUS - Charlotte, NC and across the CONUS Region.
Responsibilities And Duties: The GIS Specialist is tasked with developing and managing spatial data that supports the identification and mapping of cultural resources in the project regions. This includes creating detailed maps, analyzing spatial relationships, and integrating GIS data into the field guides. The specialist works closely with the project team to ensure that geographic information is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively used to enhance the utility of the guides. A Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist designs, develops, and implements systems and databases to access and store geospatial data. GIS specialists design digital maps using geospatial data and analyze spatial and non-spatial information.

Education: Bachelor's degree with five years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Skills Required:
