AXL Advanced is a leading manufacturer of high-performance tactical gear, serving military, law enforcement, and professional users. As we continue to scale, we need a Google Sheets and Data Systems Specialist to build and maintain an advanced costing and pricing system that integrates bill of materials, labor studies, pricing alerts, and margin tracking across our sales channels.
We already have a system in place—however it’s in desperate need of an expert to take over, optimize it, and maintain it long-term. If you thrive on building powerful, automated spreadsheets and dashboards, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Rebuild, Optimize, or Replace Our Costing System – Analyze our current Google Sheets-based system and determine if it should be improved or rebuilt from scratch.
Create a Dynamic Bill of Materials (BOM) System – Structure BOMs with materials, labor studies, labor rates, and associated costs.
Automate Pricing & Cost Tracking – Implement Google Query, Apps Script, or Airtable to automate cost calculations based on real-time data.
Develop Alerts for Cost Changes – Set up triggers that flag labor or material cost increases to keep pricing up to date.
Integrate Sales Markups & Pricing Rules – Build a system that applies target markups per sales channel (DTC, dealer, bulk orders, etc.) to maintain profitability.
Create Dashboards for Visibility – Develop real-time dashboards to provide insights into costing, margins, and pricing adjustments.
Ensure Long-Term Usability & Maintenance – Document processes and provide ongoing support and improvements as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
Local to Wylie, TX – Must be able to work on-site as needed.
Expert in Google Sheets, Google Query, & Advanced Formulas – Must have deep knowledge of pivot tables, array formulas, conditional logic, Apps Script, and automation tools.
Experience with Airtable or Similar Tools – Understanding of database-like spreadsheet systems for organizing large datasets.
Strong Background in Costing & Pricing Systems – Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or finance is a big plus.
Problem Solver & System Thinker – Must be able to reverse-engineer the existing system or build a better one from scratch.
Detail-Oriented & Reliable – We need someone who will take ownership of this system and keep it running smoothly long-term.

USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) Cotton & Tobacco (C&T) Program: The Cotton and Tobacco Program, headquartered in Memphis, TN (3275 Appling Road Memphis, TN 38133), is one of the commodity programs within AMS. C&T facilitates marketing by providing standardization, grading, and market news services for cotton, cotton-related products, and tobacco while also administering the Cotton Research and Promotion program. C&T maintains a viable and valuable relationship with all segments of the U.S. cotton and tobacco industries. C&T consists of seven Divisions/Staffs including: Grading, Standardization & Engineering, Quality Assurance, Market News, Research & Promotion, MRP Laboratory and Scientific IT Support Division, and an Administrative Staff. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) | Expert in Excel, CDA (Certified Data Analyst). Experience in Information Technology, Data Science, Financial Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Management.
