About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced and analytical Senior Accountant to manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable functions supporting government contract compliance and operations. This role focuses on AP job cost allocations, subcontractor invoice and corporate credit cards reconciliations, and processing a high volume of travel expenses. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of FAR/DFARS, Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR), per diem policies, and sales & use tax accruals, ensuring financial accuracy and audit readiness across the organization.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) processing, including coding, approvals, and disbursements in accordance with FAR-compliant accounting practices.
- Manage job cost coding and allocation to appropriate cost objectives, ensuring accuracy of direct and indirect charges and allowability determinations per FAR 31 and contractual terms.
- Perform subcontractor invoice reviews and reconciliations, ensuring alignment with contract terms, funding, and cost allowability.
- Process and audit employee travel expense reports, verifying compliance with company policy and JFTR/FTR regulations.
- Maintain and apply accurate per diem rates based on GSA schedules and contract-specific requirements.
- Calculate and record sales and use tax accruals for applicable purchases and ensure proper tax reporting and remittance.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules per asset class, prepare and book adjusting entries as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and contracts teams to validate costs and ensure timely invoice approvals and accruals.
- Maintain detailed and audit-ready documentation supporting AP transactions and travel expense reimbursements.
- Support month-end close activities including AP accruals, job cost reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist in preparing schedules for DCAA, DCMA, and independent audits as needed.
- Prepare and file 1099MISC, 1099 NSC, 1098 fillings annually and assist with drafting responses to IRS inquiries.
- Provide support for continuous improvement of AP and job cost processes, identifying areas for increased efficiency and internal control.
- 5+ years of accounting experience within a federal government contracting environment, with a strong focus on accounts payable and job costing.
- Advanced understanding of FAR/DFARS cost principles, allowability and government accounting standards.
- Proven experience processing and auditing travel expense reports in compliance with JFTR, FTR, and federal per diem rules.
- Strong background in job cost allocation, cost segregation, and subcontractor invoice tracking.
- Knowledge of sales and use tax accruals, thresholds, and multistate compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as PROCAS, Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar platforms.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills: able to perform reconciliations and build cost reports.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; able to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience supporting DCAA or DCMA audits.
- Familiarity with JFTR travel guidelines, ITAR, and other government regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience in defense DoD contracting environment.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our government contracting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting practices tailored to federal contracts, with specialized expertise in labor distribution, multi-state payroll, timekeeping compliance, and DCAA audit readiness. This position requires deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS, DCAA requirements, and labor cost allocation under federal contracts.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Prepare and manage accurate labor distribution aligned with FAR cost principles and DCAA guidelines.
- Review and process time sheets to ensure compliance with DCAA and company policies.
- Perform bi-weekly reconciliations between labor distribution records and payroll system outputs.
- Investigate and resolve timecard corrections, ensuring proper audit trails and labor cost accuracy.
- Conduct compensation analysis in support of DCAA audits and internal compliance reviews.
- Support state Workers' Compensation audits through accurate payroll classification and reporting.
- Assist in the onboarding of new employees, including timekeeping training, work authorizations.
- Setups employee profiles for payroll and labor distribution processing and benefits tracking for cost accounting.
- Provide support for payroll system integrations and implementations, including data validation, testing, and mapping of labor cost elements.
- Collaborate with HR, Contracts, and Program teams to ensure accurate alignment of labor and payroll costs to project WBS, intermediate and final cost objectives.
- Maintain payroll journal entries, audit-ready labor documentation, and cost allocation records in accordance with federal standards.
- Support indirect rates development and cost allocations of fringe, overhead, and G&A pools as applicable.
- Administer labor distribution in a multi-state payroll environment, ensuring compliance with federal and state-specific tax and labor regulations.
- Process and file all required federal payroll tax forms, including Forms 940, 941, W-2, and W-3, in accordance with IRS requirements.
- Review employee classifications to ensure compliance with FLSA exempt/non-exempt regulations and correct allocation of labor costs.
- Support internal audits and DCAA reviews by maintaining proper labor and payroll documentation and audit trails.
- Provide monthly reconciliation and reporting of payroll liabilities and labor allocations within ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint, PROCAS, or similar.
- Prepare and Maintain payroll accrual journal entries and support financial statement preparation as needed.
- Identify process improvement opportunities related to payroll, labor distribution, and compliance.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, initiating wire and ACH payments, processing deposits, and support other accounting functions as necessary.
- 5+ years of experience in cost accounting and payroll within a government contracting environment.
- Solid understanding of FAR/DFARS, DCAA audit compliance, and federal labor cost allocation principles.
- Proficient with multi-state payroll and tax reporting (Forms 940, 941, W-2/W-3).
- Strong experience in labor distribution, timekeeping systems, and cost pool structures.

The Position:
We are seeking a highly experienced Federal Acquisition Data and Systems Subject Matter Expert to support GSA's acquisition programs and data systems. This role focuses on ensuring system interoperability and enhancing the quality and accessibility of acquisition data. Key responsibilities include:

- Identify and pilot emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance acquisition data management.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Systems, Public Administration, or Business Administration. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in federal acquisition, procurement systems, or data governance roles, with at least 3 years working with or within GSA or on GSA-managed acquisition platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in GSA acquisition systems such as eBuy, GSA Advantage!, FAS systems, and GSAs Integrated Award Environment (IAE).
- Deep understanding of federal acquisition data standards and GSA-specific data reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in data integration, ETL pipelines, and data quality assurance for systems like FPDS, SAM.gov, and FASt Lane.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to brief senior GSA leadership and cross-agency stakeholders.
- Proven ability to mentor junior analysts and acquisition professionals in GSA-specific systems and processes.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Censeo Consulting Group is based in Washington D.C., a fantastic city for working professionals. We work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home and work in our office conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks away from the White House. And with many of our clients also based in D.C., we have the luxury of leaving for a meeting and being back in the office in time for post-work happy hours, team dinners, and game nights.
The Fine Print:
- The salary range for this role is $120,000-$80,000 depending on experience
- Expected travel 0-10%; mayincrease based on business needs
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- This role is subject to a hybrid work schedule in the Washington D.C.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Acquisition Specialist with experience in Agile methodologies and a strong understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The ideal candidate will have at least 1 - 3 years of experience in acquisition and a proven track record of managing procurement processes from cradle to grave. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of acquisition programs, including Simplified Acquisition Programs (SAP), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, and purchase orders. The Government is willing to train the right candidate, and while certifications are a plus, they are not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Simplified Acquisition Program (SAP) processes from cradle to grave, ensuring compliance with FAR and agency-specific regulations.
- Administer IDIQ contracts and purchase orders , including drafting, negotiating, and monitoring contract performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to procure specialized items, such as art collections and other unique assets.
- Assist in the procurement process for high-profile events, including Gala procurement , ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to streamline acquisition processes and improve efficiency.
- Conduct market research, develop acquisition plans, and prepare solicitation documents.
- Evaluate proposals, negotiate terms, and award contracts in accordance with federal regulations.
- Monitor contractor performance, resolve issues, and ensure deliverables meet quality and schedule requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all acquisition activities.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on acquisition-related matters.
- 1- 3 years of experience in federal acquisition or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other relevant acquisition policies.
- Experience with Agile methodologies in a procurement or acquisition context.
- Familiarity with Simplified Acquisition Programs (SAP) , IDIQ contracts , and purchase orders .
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and acquisition-related software.
- Experience procuring specialized items, such as art collections or event-related goods and services.
- Familiarity with Gala or event procurement processes.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FAC-C, DAWIA, or equivalent) are a plus but not required.
