Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist at Prevea Health performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance to the Radiologist protocols. This role is mainly responsible for conducting mammograms while also supporting general x-ray.
What you will do
- Performs mammography and general imaging that may include specialty such as Orthopedics.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus
- Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and PACs System.
- Completes all image processing procedures and QC testing. Follows Radiologist protocols to ensure images are of diagnostic quality.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns
- Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers
- Potential to rotate on mobile mammography unit.
Education Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology Required
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years Current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology preferably mammography. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year current clinical experience. Preferred
