  • Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, diagnostics, NVH) on vehicles and in engine dynamometer test cells.
  • Modify powertrain control calibrations to improve fuel economy, performance, emissions, and diagnostics.
  • Develop new and innovative techniques to continuously improve quality, reduce cost, meet program timing, and improve calibration efficiency.

What you'll do.
  • Support interface meetings to ensure proper alignment between hardware, calibration, and program targets.
  • Support the use of the latest calibration tools and methods (GTDM, eKPIs, DYNOCAL, etc.).
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development at remote locations in Arizona, Colorado, and Northern Michigan.

Qualifications

You'll have.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Powertrain Calibration.
  • 1+ years' experience with one or more of the following software tools: ETAS, ATI, or MATLAB.
  • In-depth background and knowledge of the powertrain calibration development process.
  • Proficient in powertrain controls software use and development.
  • Proficient in powertrain calibration and systems interactions (engine, transmission, mapping/PTDyno, fuel economy, emissions, drivability, OBD, etc).

Even better, you may have.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or similar engineer degree.
  • 2+ years experience in Ford Powertrain Calibration with knowledge of current gas or hybrid ICE calibration processes and software.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Accurate Technologies, Inc. (ATI), or similar, testing and data acquisition tools and software.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • Partner with Raw Materials Purchasing on Material Buy Programs.
  • Support material cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support material and process innovation.
  • Lead Material Sustainability & Restricted Substance Attributes.
  • Lead/support global Material Tech Clubs to coach & train the Global METS Team.
  • Support early program material assumption development with component-based material strategies.
  • Develop global Material Specifications and global supply base (Approved Sources in All Regions).
  • Review and signoff on engineering drawings, BOMs, DV/PV plans and reports.
  • Develop component specific material performance specifications, as required and cascade to functions with the FEDE Tool.

Qualifications

You'll Have.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years Materials Engineering Body Exterior Experience for components listed in Position Description.

  • Curious, self-motivated, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, with complete proficiency in Microsoft Office and TeamCenter.
  • Ability to manage complex data sets, develop conclusions and identify next steps.

We’re looking for a Product Development Technician to support routine technical tasks in our lab. You’ll assist engineers with testing, data collection, and documentation, and help maintain lab equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and organize technical data (e.g., test results, design changes)
