The Innovation Lab Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic innovation initiatives from concept to execution. This position is responsible for overseeing a dynamic portfolio of early-stage projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and maximizing impact through effective prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a passion for emerging technologies, cross-functional collaboration, human-centered design and agile methodologies. They will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and innovation teams to evaluate opportunities, track progress, and deliver measurable outcomes that support long-term growth and transformation.

Role Purpose

The Healthcare Innovation Lab Portfolio Managers are primarily responsible for supporting the mission of the Innovation Lab through catalyzing care delivery innovations through research and development. He or she will do this through discovery, define, develop, and delivery of innovations. This management role will lead cross-functional teams and drive our innovation strategy, portfolios, and roadmap. Coordinates with stakeholders to plan and execute successful innovation implementations and provide efficient service and support. Ensures that appropriate security, legal, and regulatory protocols are in place. Trains and coaches operational teams that provide innovative resolution of strategic opportunities. As leaders in care delivery innovation, we fundamentally change care delivery for our patients and communities based on user need and rigorous testing.

Responsibilities

  • Research and development of innovations - Conduct discovery, define, develop, and delivery of innovations that align with our strategic priorities. PM will use a combination of Agile, Human Centered Design, and other industry methods to manage their portfolio of innovation projects; create and manage evaluation criteria to objectively assess the value of the innovation to the business; manages cross-function and complex project teams and project plans; effectively communicate progress and findings for strategic decision making and to deliver on our innovation strategy.
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships - Manage and build various stakeholder relationships to ensure the success of project implementation, testing, and evaluation; ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders from business, clinical, and executive teams; Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of an innovation and to analyze the needs that align to strategic goals.
  • Conduct innovation market research - Identification of internal problem statements and emerging innovations that may drive value to our organization; conducting research to understand potential impacts of the innovation within our ecosystem.
  • Oversight of Lab grant activities - Oversight of Lab grant activities (Big Ideas Program), including providing Lab support for grant proposals, research project execution, and potential clinical translation into operations.
  • Represent the Lab as a healthcare innovation leader - Present and represent the Innovation Lab's portfolio of work at both regional and national forums to solidify our position as a leading healthcare innovation center; participate in national forums; responsible for facilitating publications.

    The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $13000 - 16000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
