**Responsibilities:**

**Summary** :
The **HCS Mgr Board Relations** is responsible for managing the logistics of meetings of the UNC Health Care System Board of Directors. Reporting to the Director of Board Relations, responsibilities of this position include managing the required retention of records, collecting board materials and preparing them for members, and performing special projects for the board as requested.
**Responsibilities** :
**Meeting Planning** : Assists in the planning, scheduling, and execution of all official meetings of the UNC Health Board. Coordinates facilities, logistics, and technology. Arranges for and oversees support staff and contractors/vendors to ensure the proper and efficient conduct of the official board meetings.
Administrative Assistance: In collaboration with leadership, provides administrative support and assistance to the Board and its committee. Assists in planning other events and special meetings conducted by the Board.
**Board Support:** Works closely with board members, the Dean/CEO, the Chief Legal Officer, the Director of Board Relations, and senior staff across UNC Health to ensure that all logistical aspects of the meetings and activities of the Board run smoothly. Coordinates the physical location, schedule, and arrangements for board meetings. Ensures that all board members receive appropriate support to carry out their duties and responsibilities. Provides direct administrative support, technology support, and other incidental needs necessary for the conduct of board business. Facilitates and/or responds to board member requests for information.
**Board Materials** : Assists in creating and implementing board materials in advance of meetings. Records, composes, and distributes the minutes and other materials developed at meetings in a professional, accurate, and timely manner. Maintains and disseminates records on an established schedule. Reviews and ensures that all materials submitted in connection with any official meeting are correct, properly formatted, free of typographical errors. Maintains accurate information about the current and former board members.
**Board Liaison** : Serves as a liaison between the board and leadership across the UNC Health Care System. Communicates to internal and external stakeholders in a professional and consistent manner about the details of official meetings and actions and managing related issues in coordination with the CEO's Office.
Communication Management: Assists in the facilitation of communications from the board to UNC Health leaders, as well as other interested parties and stakeholders who have an interest in the operations and activities of the board. Coordinates the board's web presence and other informational materials which serve to publicize the activities of the board and/or coordinating responses to inquiries and requests for information.
**Board Management** : Assists with the tracking of board member appointment and terms. Assists in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Assists with onboarding and orienting new board members. Participates in and documents annual goal setting and accountability processes.
