APHA is looking for a senior executive responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and day to day management of the Campaign for the Public’s Health. This role requires an individual who is a strategic thinker, creative tactician, thoughtful and experienced manager, as well as a skilled campaigner. Exceptional planning, leadership, fundraising, and advocacy skills are essential. A strong understanding of grassroots as well as grasstops advocacy, lobbying, marketing, communications and partnership engagement skills is a plus. The Campaign Director will work closely with APHA senior staff leadership, various stakeholders and partners to ensure that the campaign is effectively designed, implemented, and measured for success. This position requires creativity and innovation in a result-driven environment. This also requires being capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and uncertain environment. The Campaign for the Public’s Health’s Rapid Response Action Center (war room) will serve as a coordinated campaign hub for rapid advocacy, strategic communications, legal action, and cross-sectoral mobilization. Our initial focus will be federal, with support for state and local partners. Over time, we aim to proactively build a campaign that breaks silos, has strong bipartisan support and promotes equitable community well-being across all jurisdictions. The campaign will follow the strategic direction as defined by the APHA senior leadership and guided by a team of advisors. Management : Strategize with APHA senior leaders and Campaign for the Public’s Health Advisory Committee to coordinate a fast-paced and action-oriented campaign. Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive campaign focusing on improving the public’s health via grassroots and partner engagement and mobilization, creative communications and marketing action, legal strategies, and government relations/lobbying. Coordinate information flow and reviews of plans and written products. Assist with development and overseeing of consultant agreements. Strategic planning and execution: Work with the Campaign leaders to develop strategies and plans to execute them. Take primary responsibility for overseeing the group’s overall time management, prioritization, and progress toward our goals. Partnership engagement: Uplift and organize mass and targeted grassroots actions, both organically led and led by coalitions and organizational allies. Staff partner groups and related APHA initiatives (e.g. For Our Health) to harness energy and activity. Support mobilizing with a wide variety of constituents, including building bridges to those who may not have mobilized together before, which might include health care, military families, business and faith leaders, etc. Advocacy/Government Relations : Work in coordination with existing government relations staff and additional consultants to create advocacy and lobbying strategy in support of the Campaign policy priorities. Provide infrastructure, organizing support and training to support action in key areas of the country to push the agenda forward. Communications : The Campaign Director coordinates with communications staff and consultants to assure rapid response communications, key messaging, targeted stories, and product development in support of the Campaign. Budget/Fundraising : The Campaign Director works with the APHA to ensure the long-term viability of the Campaign by fundraising, managing budget and development opportunities. This includes keeping data organized, helping to identify both individual and organizational/foundation prospects. Oversee writing relevant grant reports and proposals.
This position is grant-funded and guaranteed for 2 years with expectation of continuing employment if funds are available.
Bachelor’s degree and over 10 years of demonstrated success organizing issue, political or advocacy campaigns in a fast-paced and dynamic setting and extensive management experience. Knowledge of public health and existing relationships with key allies, officials, and funders are a plus. Skills and abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and judgment. Excellent political judgment and understanding of the federal legislative process. Strong understanding of legislative and policy strategies from the grassroots to national settings. Strong and inclusive leadership and team management abilities. All applicants must be a self-starter with an ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment with competing priorities. As this position involves significant contact with partners, key stakeholders, and volunteers, the applicant must be affable, people-oriented, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in budget management and financial planning. Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships. Strong project management skills. General Summary:

Operates all breast imaging equipment located in the Breast Center for the purposes of performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to physician's orders and assisting with needle localizations, stereotactic breast biopsies and ultrasound biopsies.
Ensures that our commitment to excellence in customer service is accomplished throughout the daily work schedule. Fosters a positive work environment for patients, colleagues and referring physicians. Ensures compliance with all the terms and conditions of the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Advanced mammography registration RT(R)(M).
- Proficient in interventional procedures (stereotactic biopsy, sonographic biopsy and needle localization).
Shift: Full time, Day Shift, 40 hours per week. No call or weekend work is required.
Salary Range: Minimum 39.75 per hour - Maximum 65.56 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
