Director of Strategic Recruitment Services
POSITION SUMMARY
Coker University seeks an experienced and dynamic Director of Strategic Recruitment Services to lead and support our growing admissions team. This position is responsible for overseeing and maximizing the day-to-day activities of our Recruitment Specialists, providing strategic direction for the enrollment of undergraduate, graduate, and online students, and managing all aspects of international student admissions.
Reporting to the Vice President for Strategic Communication and Recruitment, the Director will help shape and execute recruitment strategies, ensure operational effectiveness, and lead the development of data-informed initiatives that support enrollment goals and enhance the student experience from prospect to enrollment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Leadership & Oversight:
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Recruitment Specialists responsible for high school engagement, campus visits, and yield activities.
- Ensure team goals are aligned with university-wide enrollment priorities and provide consistent support and training.
- Develop and execute annual recruitment strategies for undergraduate, graduate, and online programs in collaboration with university leadership.
- Analyze trends, monitor progress toward enrollment goals, and adjust strategies based on data and market shifts.
- Support marketing initiatives by identifying target audiences, optimizing messaging, and contributing to campaign development.
- Serve as the primary admissions contact for international students and applicants.
- Manage all documentation related to international enrollment, including SEVIS records, I-20 issuance, and compliance with government regulations.
- Act as the Designated School Official (DSO), maintaining accurate student records and ensuring Coker's compliance with federal guidelines.
- Partner with departments across campus, including Academic Affairs, Athletics, Financial Aid, and Student Services, to support a seamless admissions and onboarding experience.
- Participate in committees and working groups related to student success, retention, and campus-wide enrollment efforts.
- Support the use of the CRM (Salesforce) and related systems for tracking applicants and communications.
- Identify process improvements to streamline operations and improve the applicant experience.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in business from an accredited college or university
- 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar position or field
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Job/Department Summary
Working independently, under general direction of the Marketing & Recruitment Director, the Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) Recruiting Specialist performs highly complex duties related to the development of recruitment and enrollment strategies for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. This position is key in the College's financial, viability, sustainability as well as its inward and outward visibility with appropriate stakeholders. The incumbent will create and implement program recruitment, communication, and outreach plans that lead to increased applications and enrollments to ensure the success of the programs.
Required Education And Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
AND
Three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
- A Masters degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Experience working with non-traditional students
- Experience in communicating admissions and or student services policies and procedures to community college, university, or high school constituents
- Experience with social media, email, and web for purposes of sales/marketing/recruitment
- Student recruitment and engagement, preferably in extended or adult education
- Master's degree
Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, communications or marketing and two years of communication and marketing experience. Must have the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view, self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized. Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies is also required. Requires excellent skills in oral and written communications, critical thinking and active listening. Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. **Responsibilities**
Responsible for initiating and implementing recruitment and retention activities to expand the blood donor base for the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program by educating the community about blood donation and engaging with individuals and local organizations. Assists with strategic marketing, communication, and graphic design for the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program marketing and recruitment strategies; ensuring messages are effective, accurate, and timely. Networks with local businesses and organizations, pursues community events and conference opportunities, responds to ambassador needs, creates graphic and web design material, and engages with radio and news media. Creates and implements communication and marketing plans to ensure they align with the organizations and Blood Donor Program mission. Promotes a productive, collegial workplace and projects a professional image as an ambassador for the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program. Must be proficient with social media platforms, information technology, management of databases, and internet applications while maintaining brand standards. Will be assigned to various projects as necessary. This position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, communications or marketing and two years of communication and marketing experience. Master's degree in business, public relations, communications, or marketing will be accepted in lieu of experience. Prior experience in the blood banking industry is preferred. Must have the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view, self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized. Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies is also required. Requires excellent skills in oral and written communications, critical thinking and active listening. Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. On-the-job training is provided for additional technical skills. Valid driver's license required.
