The Inbound Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the management of online marketing efforts, including inbound marketing. The Inbound Marketing Coordinator serves as a key team member to help meet hiring goals through thoughtful inbound marketing strategies.

Responsibilities of Inbound Marketing Coordinator

  • Manage the delivery of digital content, including blogs, career insights / guides, white papers, job postings, video content, etc.) for the purpose of lead generation
  • Create and manage outreach (email / text automation) marketing campaigns
  • Create and manage lead nurturing workflows
  • Work with internal Partners and recruiting staff to achieve hiring / placement goals through digital marketing.

Qualifications Inbound Marketing Coordinator

The Digital & Marketing Specialist at the Virginia Zoo contributes to the success of marketing campaigns and visual collateral needs. D&M Specialists partner and support various Zoo departments to effectively communicate the mission of the Virginia Zoo to its audience.

This is a full time, non-exempt position. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Public Relations

  • Write press releases as instructed by the Director of Communication.
  • Outreach to media outlets, organizations, associations, and interest groups to obtain media highlights for Virginia Zoo.
  • Assist in identifying community partners for photo shoots, editorials, and promotional work.
  • Scan monthly zoo and aquarium publications for Virginia Zoo mentions for Marketing updates.
  • Respond to incoming media related inquires.
  • Act as representative and spokesperson in various media channels as assigned by the Director of Communications.
Website/Online
  • Monitor and update Zoo content on the website to include all areas of the Zoo (including education, events, programs, animal information and horticulture).

Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Marketing & Digital Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. This role will report directly to the President and be based out of our Cockeysville, MD location (North Baltimore suburbs). This is a Hybrid role that will require 3-days on-site per week with regular travel requirements to our other locations in Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for someone who is entrepreneurial and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. You should be passionate about visual storytelling, digital marketing, and e-commerce. The Marketing & Digital Operations Coordinator will play a key role in creating compelling marketing content, standardizing and managing email campaigns across all locations, supporting website development and maintenance, and assisting with our expanding e-commerce operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Social Media

  • Capture and produce high-quality photos and videos of services, retail products, job sites, and customer projects.
  • Create engaging content for use across email campaigns, websites, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) utilizing basic graphic and video editing tools.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all digital channels and staying true to our local heritage.
Email Marketing
  • Design, write, and manage email marketing campaigns for all business locations.
  • Develop templates, segment email lists, and analyze campaign performance to optimize engagement.
  • Ensure email marketing is consistent and standardized across the company while utilizing local branding.
Website Support & Development
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to create new websites for each location or business unit.
  • Lead maintaining company websites, including content updates, performance checks, and SEO best practices.
  • Monitor analytics and propose improvements to enhance user experience and drive conversions
Advertising & Campaign Management
  • Develop and maintain a centralized advertising calendar across all locations, ensuring alignment of promotions, seasonal campaigns, and key events.
  • Coordinate digital and print advertising efforts, including paid social media, Google Ads, local publications, direct mail, and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with local managers and regional leaders to plan and execute location-specific advertising initiatives.
  • Track campaign performance, analyze ROI, and provide regular reporting with actionable insights.
  • Ensure all advertising materials are brand-consistent and compliant with company standards.
E-Commerce & Online Listings
  • Support the e-commerce business by creating and managing product listings on the company website, Amazon, and eBay.
  • Write compelling product descriptions, upload images, and ensure pricing, inventory, and details are accurate and optimized.
  • Monitor listings and coordinate with operations teams to ensure order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in retail, service, or construction industries.
  • 25% Travel Requirement: Ability to travel regionally to capture content and support location-specific marketing needs.
  • Strong skills in photography, videography, basic graphic design, and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Canva, or similar tools).
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or HubSpot) and CRM utilization.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, or similar.
  • Experience managing marketing calendars and coordinating multi-channel campaigns, including advertising, promotions, and seasonal events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects across locations.
