This independent contractor role involves coordinating and managing Pro-Am events and special community events for the Astros Golf Foundation.

This independent contractor role involves coordinating and managing Pro-Am events and special community events for the Astros Golf Foundation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build registration sites, create event timelines, manage player registration, communication, pairings, operational setup, catering, and awards.
- Plan and execute kick-off parties alongside the Astros Special Events department.
- Prioritize and take responsibility for organizing, tracking, and creating event best practices and processes.
- Act as the “Day-of Event Coordinator” for Pro-Ams during Tournament Week. Gather and file all relevant vendor information, assign duties, and manage event needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key special events stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Astros Golf Foundation and support special community events such as the Astros Golf Fall Classic, Jim Crane Celebrity Pro-Am, Celebration Breakfast/Lunch, and Media Day.
- Manage the tournament Sponsor Value Program in conjunction with the PGA TOUR.
- Oversee creative projects for Pro-Ams and Special Events, including invitations, flyers, information sheets, and other necessary materials.
- Manage all tournament week clinics and special events.
- Co-manage relationships with vendors that interact with sponsorship and special event partners, including F&B, décor, floral, and interior customization vendors.
- Manage caterer/concessionaire contracts and assist the VP of Operations in approving catering numbers and menus for each Special Event/Pro-Am.
- Work alongside the Operations team on the build-out of sponsor spaces, including signage, audio-visual equipment, furniture, parking, and shuttle services for Special Events and Pro-Ams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related area.
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing large-scale events, particularly Pro-Am or similar sports events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
- Familiarity with golf events and the specific requirements of Pro-Am tournaments is a plus.
- Experience in managing relationships with various vendors, including catering, décor, and other event-related services.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
