  • Work with Suppliers selected to develop and specify Oracle requirements.

  • Conducting detailed concept and design reviews of the selected SSDs.

  • Assist in development of critical to quality criteria.

  • Defining and implementing test and validation criteria for the subsystem and its components in all System configurations, applications and workloads.

  • Ensuring compliance with Environmental and EMC Requirements and supporting such tests at System and Rack levels.

Position Summary:

We're looking for a Hardware Engineer to help our engineering team develop advanced satellite communications products. You'll work alongside other accomplished, innovative engineers to develop new products and advanced features. The ideal candidate will apply their experience and sharpen their expertise in a dedicated product development environment to tackle real world problems while working with software and test teams to deliver high quality, leading-edge products. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the design of electronics for ground-based satellite communications equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Rapidly develop concept to prototype, including digital, analog, and FPGA components.
  • Designs will include:
    1. SoC FPGA connectivity including gigabit transceivers, clocking, power, banking, and configuration techniques
    2. Memory devices such as DDR/LPDDR, Flash, SPI NOR, eMMC
    3. Data converters such as mixed-signal front-ends, ADCs, DACs
    4. Clock distribution including PLLs, fanout buffers, differential and single-ended, termination techniques
    5. SERDES connectivity - PCIe, CAUI, JESD204 up to 25 GHz
    6. Ethernet connectivity, switches, PHYs
    7. Power distribution network design and analysis
  • Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define engineering requirements based on system-level requirements and tradeoffs
  • Create formal engineering documentation including System Requirements Specifications (SRS), Hardware Design documents (HDD), Interface Control documents (ICD), and others
  • Bring-up and bench testing of prototype electronics
  • Work with manufacturing team to bring up production
Qualifications:
  • Some experience with architecture and design of communications systems.
  • Some experience with board-level design including FPGA interfacing, digital design, basic analog circuitry (filter/gain stages) including ADCs, DACs, switching voltage regulators, and platform bring-up.
  • Some experience in the following: common bus interfaces and IO's such as Gigabit Ethernet, JESD204, PCIe, USB, IC2, and JTAG.
  • Hands-on experience in PCB schematic & layout software (e.g. Orcad). Ability to direct PCB designers is a plus.
  • Proficiency with using lab instruments; oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator is a plus.
  • Some experience with FPGA design tools, including implementation and simulation, is a plus.

The successful candidate will work closely with the selected suppliers from initial product review to product qualification, and validation to successful product release and sustaining support and work on implementing new technological features .
You will also actively participate in all of the development efforts, such as product specifications, test and verification process including test automation and then lead the smooth transition to manufacturing environment for volume production. You will resolve all the issues in integrating the SSDs into data center servers and products. + Work with Suppliers selected to develop and specify Oracle requirements.
+ Conducting detailed concept and design reviews of the selected SSDs.
+ Assist in development of critical to quality criteria.
+ Defining and implementing test and validation criteria for the subsystem and its components in all System configurations, applications and workloads.
+ Ensuring compliance with Environmental and EMC Requirements and supporting such tests at System and Rack levels.
+ Responsible for working with Suppliers to analyze and resolve all technical issues with a disciplined root cause and corrective action process with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
+ Support Operations Engineering with quality criteria, issues resolution and expert technical support.
+ Communicate clearly and participate and provide excellent status in Program level management meetings and ensure that all action items are closed in a timely fashion.
