AFO is looking for a Supply Tech, Lead to work in Colorado Springs, CO. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
This position performs as a mid-level supervisory role overseeing 10 personnel in all aspects of technical supply management (e.g., inventory management, storage management, property disposition). All operations will be performed locally as a liaison between 4th Infantry Division G4, Divisional support units, DLA-DS and AFO. Work location will be at Tactical/Installation Supply Support Activities (TSSA, ISSA) on Fort Carson. Operationally manage disposition and turn-in priorities for Class II, VII, IX, property book-controlled items to DLA-DS.
+ (a) Working knowledge of US Army computer operating supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclatures, work methods, manuals, or other established regulatory guidelines.
+ (b) An in-depth understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
+ (c) Analytical ability to define or recognize and solve the problems involved, collect the necessary data, establish the facts, and take a recommended action based upon application or interpretation of established regulatory guidelines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Lead/Coordinate all supply operations within the Installation SSA warehouse to include receipt, storage, issue, record management, property accountability, requisitioning and associated inventory control of all material and supplies necessary to support the SSA under contractual requirements.
+ Performs customer support functions, those processes used to support the total requirement of customers to gain logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations.
+ Work and/or able to learn how to operate Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Logistics Information Systems, Windows, and other similar operating systems.
+ Directs warehouse personnel in applying stock control policies and procedures.
+ Performs inventory management, cataloging, research functions IAW AFO procedures and TSSA Regulations.
+ Ensures training of employees is conducted, performs employee counseling and evaluations. Enforces all Safety to standard, to include implementing Safety as a culture for all employees.
+ Research and analyze problems to determine if problems are human error or systemic.
+ May perform other administrative tasks as determined by the Installation SSA Supervisor.
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ Operate various forms of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including possible forklift operations (diesel, propane, electric), pallet jacks, etc.
**Qualifications**
+ High School graduate, with training in logistics/supply operations or equivalent military/civilian course work preferred. Exceptional oral and written communications skills a must, academic course work in computer information systems associated with government-automated supply systems, a working knowledge or able to learn GCSS-A.
+ A minimum three years general experience with technical or other responsible work that demonstrates judgment and analytical ability which has provided a general base knowledge of logistics. Two years' experience as a group/team leader preferred.
+ Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to starting or by 30 days after employment.
+ Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
**Physical Demands & Working Environment:**
+ Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
+ Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting, employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, arm, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

Responsibilities
MAJOR JOB ACTIVIES
+ Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments.
+ May direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
+ Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records
+ Verifying that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against the DD Form 1348 documents.

  • Complete Closeout Activities including, Tool accountability / Parts reconciliation, Sanitation tagging / Notification to Production, Return unused materials and tools, Functional Operations test complete, and arrange for Pd.M. validation
  • Complete, Sign and return hardcopy Work Order to Maintenance Supervisor complete with; Work Description, Symptoms, As Found, As Left, Start / Finish time, and Labor Hours and Note Deficiencies, Delays, any Job Plan Feedback
  • Effectively inform through written communication daily pass-downs issues and actions
  • Promote and assist with REPI events
  • Prepare work site – scaffolding, safety, occasionally use a forklift, and etc
  • A test will be administered after a 45-day period

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be willing to work weekends and occasionally Holidays
  • Must have a strong understanding of basic hand tools and mechanical systems, including the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment
  • Work history or resume must be attached to application

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment, and processes

  • High level of mechanical/engineering knowledge
