Own the tactical roadmap to build and deliver client- and advisor-facing financial planning applications (including client portal and plan monitoring) by integrating and building on existing Morningstar capabilities and developing new ones (10%). Own an investor-facing client portal website with over 20,000 monthly active users and prioritize the client portal feature backlog based on user feedback, market research and cross-product initiatives and share out and maintain a product roadmap (5%). Capture and synthesize business requirements from customers and stakeholders, prioritize the backlog across multiple projects and workstreams, and work within an agile software development framework and scrum team setting (10%). Collaborate with the Data Science team and the Behavioral Insights Research and Development Lab to develop product ideas from prototyping and incubation to product integration (10%). Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related engineering field or foreign equivalent and 2 years of related experience in product management, business analysis, or software development roles required. In addition, the following skills are required: experience with agile development and technical acumen; experience building software, cross-functional design, product, and development team with a track record for quality and on-time deliveries; experience with financial advisor segment, financial planning, and client-facing advice tools, portfolio accounting, and performance reporting; experience with conducting market research, including user testing; experience with new product ideation, content strategy, and design-thinking; and experience using or building portfolio/investment planning, portfolio accounting, investment screening or analysis software and investing solutions, including portfolio planner, screeners or comparison tools. Summary of Job

The Product Specialist role is one that requires working knowledge of the eMDs suite of products as well as excellent organizational, written/verbal, project management, and customer service skills. This position also plays a key role in understanding internal and external customer needs and challenges, defining business/technical documentation, coordinating with key decision makers in the organization, and proposing solutions that align with existing product portfolio and strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Participate in internal meetings with Product Management, Project Management, Support and Development regarding upcoming releases, progress throughout Development and Beta Cycles, escalations, etc.
•Collaborates with other teams within the company
•Works with Tech Writers to produce product documentation (release notes, installation guides, operation guides, etc.) and other collateral
•Research support tickets and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure they are resolved
•Conduct meetings and discussions to achieve consensus on product features and functionality.
•Research the existing product and customer requests to determine the desired functionality for a new product line.
•Write functional specifications based on the research and meetings done for each module assigned.
•Conduct review sessions of functional specifications to obtain approval from all necessary parties.
•Support the approved functional specifications through the Design, Development and QA processes.
•Works directly with customers, research and write specifications based on their requests.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications
•Strong verbal and written communication skills are imperative for this position.
•Excellent organizational skills are a must.
•Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
•Prior experience in web based applications is a must.
•Must be able to thrive in a busy, high volume environment.
•Prior experience and familiarity with software development processes, web services, application servers and service-oriented architecture is preferred
•Prior experience with the Agile development process is a plus
•Basic understanding of software development processes and industry best practices
•Experience with prior EMRs preferred
•Ability to understand workflow within the PM system and EMR system

Education and/or Experience
•Minimum of 3 years of work experience in product management, business analyst or related role is required.
•Prior experience in web applications is a must
•Bachelor's degree is required
•Candidate should have some experience in the healthcare IT industry
•Knowledge of medical terminology
•Experience with Project Management
