You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or cyber incident response

  • 5+ years of experience with federal cybersecurity

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Cyber Incident Response or Cyber Forensics Certification

  • DoD 8570 IAM or IAT Level II Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in a security operations center

  • Experience leading a cybersecurity team

  • Ability to communicate with cyber operators and leadership

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Leidos is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst in Colorado Springs, CO. This position provides Tier II Cyber Security Analysis to C5ISR Center Defensive Cyber Solutions Branch (DCSB) Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO). Beyond advising and guiding technical matters, this position is tasked with driving implementation and adoption of new tools, research, capabilities, frameworks, and methodologies while ensuring those already in use are implemented, utilized properly, and improved.

Schedule: Day/Night panama schedule- primarily hiring for night shift with the possibility to rotate to days

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Identify and offer solutions to gaps in capabilities and visibility

  • Promote and drive research and implementation of automation and process efficiencies

  • Intermediate command line experience that includes chaining Linux utilities such as tcpdump, sed, awk, and grep together

  • Intermediate IDS (Snort, Bro/Zeek, etc.) creation and tuning, to include performing impact analysis on customer environments and review and correction of Tier I rules

  • Analysis of alerts plus surrounding network traffic to provide remediation context

  • Ability to consume open and closed source and search indicators in customer data, then generate new IDS configurations for future detection

  • Basic hunt experience that includes sifting non-alert-based traffic and deriving meaningful results in the absence of corresponding OSINT

  • Vulnerability awareness and able to determine applicability to customer environments, using data to establish attack attempts and success/failure

  • Maintaining current threat awareness

  • Ability to analyze complex (multipacket, multi-vector, multi-exploit, large volume) traffic and derive meaningful conclusions

  • Self-directed research, development, customization, or other contributions to process improvement

  • Continual enrichment of IDS and moderate ability to tune on the fly.

  • Ability to self-educate with non-comprehensive or incomplete documentation on new concepts, protocols, and data formats

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI and be approved customer SAP read-ons.

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 4+ years of prior IT experience.

  • 2+ years' experience working in a SOC environment.

  • Active DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification (i.e. Security+)

  • Ability to obtain a CSSP-Analyst certification prior to starting.

  • Fluent in computer network Packet Capture (PCAP) analysis

  • Hands-on cybersecurity network defense experience (Detect and Respond) within a Computer Incident Response organization. Hands-on experience with a Security Information and Event Management tool (ArcSight, Security Onion, etc.)

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of industry accepted standards.

  • Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic finding.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

? Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep technical understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).

  • Familiarity or experience in Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain methodology, and MITRE ATT&CK framework.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Polygraph. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Current CISSP certification preferred or other DoD 8570.1 IAM-II or IAT-III or above certification.

Responsibilities for this Position

Job Description: Join General Dynamics Mission Systems as an Cybersecurity Analyst in San Antonio, Texas. Contribute to cutting-edge technology supporting national defense and intelligence services. Collaborate with esteemed customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions.

What You'll Experience:

  • Lead and participate in national-level security assessment and authorization (A&A) activities.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot security anomalies using network traffic, log files, and automated alerts.
  • Create and manage security documentation for accreditation activities.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring and vulnerability scanning to ensure system security.
  • Develop security policies and procedures and maintain network security platforms.
  • Will work in both integraton and test lab environments as well on operational networks.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Hands-on experience with UNIX/LINUX command-line security audits.
  • Technical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with IT government security standards (ICD 503, NISPOM, NIST, DIACAP, RMF).
  • Experience with security tools like Splunk, Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, Clearswift, and VMware.
  • Current CISSP certification preferred or other DoD 8570.1 IAM-II or IAT-III or above certification.
  • Experience with Incident Response procedures and reports.
  • Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting Cybersecurity documentation for classified programs.
