Enswell is an all-day restaurant with a full kitchen, cafe, comprehensive cocktail menu, and bottleshop. Owned and operated by Rival Bros Coffee Roasters, Enswell opened in 2023 in the space of a previous Rival Bros cafe on Spruce Street. The restaurant brings together many different passions and services under one roof; Enswell aims to be a place where one might have a phenomenal cup of coffee right next to another enjoying a craft cocktail or upscale meal.
We are looking for applicants who are interested in supporting our front of house by bringing their hosting experience to daily operations. Enswell hosts take ownership over the front door and welcoming and seating of guests. There is a mandate of being helpful and supporting the general front of house needs during all services which is outlined below. We are small space so we must work together to deliver a superior experience.
Essential Host Job Duties:
- Greet and seat guests upon arrival and thank guests upon departure
- Control restaurant flow with an organized approach to seating tables utilizing reservation software
- Have a clear understanding of all restaurant items and a willingness to help customers understand Enswell
- Answer any guest questions about retail coffee or liquor program
- Keep the inside foyer clean and organized: this includes sweeping of carpets, cleaning of door windows, and wiping down counters
- Keep front entrance clean and organized: this includes sweeping of sidewalk and steps, sign alignment, and window cleanliness
- Keep the bathrooms clean and organized: this includes restocking bathroom products, sweeping, cleaning mirrors, sweeping floors, and taking out the trash.
- Work cohesively with front of house staff by: cleaning tables and assisting with the occasional private event
- Answering the phone and directing calls as needed
- Communicate with staff and managers to keep the work environment functioning smoothly
- Set up and break down host station for service including assigning table sections on ipad and setting out menus
- Complete all side work before the end of a shift
- Control music through selection of playlist and monitoring of songs and volume throughout the service
Additional Lead Host Job Duties:
- Train new hosts on essential host job duties
- Lead by example through top notch customer service and high levels of attention to detail with the completion of all host duties
- Completion of weekly orders of cleaning supplies, etc.
- Oversight of reservation book including, but not limited to: confirmation of reservations, direct guest communication, and daily organization of reservations
Enswell’s Expectations:
- Attend scheduled shifts on time and in accordance with dress code and appearance guidelines
- Strong knowledge of products sold in retail bottle shop and retail coffee beans
- Availability to work busiest restaurant shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Demands:
- This position will require the employee to periodically lift, push, pull or carry items up to 50 lbs in weight (putting away deliveries of boxes, cold brew kegs, outdoor furniture)
- This position requires the employee to stand for extended periods of time
- This position will require the employee to periodically climb stairs, ramps or uneven surfaces
