Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Legal Engineering to lead our team of Legal Engineers, who are services consultants responsible for delivering Ironclad implementations to our customers. Legal Engineers are responsible for the design and configuration of Ironclad’s platform to meet customer’s needs, developing workflows and automation that drive adoption and business impact.
As a Manager, Legal Engineering , you’ll oversee a team of 6-8 Legal Engineers, providing hands-on support for complex or at-risk projects, and continuously improving the delivery processes. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions across the customer lifecycle and customer advocacy with our product.
This is a people-first, customer-centric leadership role. You’ll be responsible for coaching and developing Legal Engineers, providing clear guidance, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture. You’ll also interface regularly with customers, helping ensure our most strategic implementations are successful and drive long-term value.
This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office. Office attendance is required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaboration and connection. There may be additional in-office days for team or company events.
In this role, you will:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Legal Engineers
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career development
Oversee delivery of packaged service offerings, custom SOW delivery, and investment projects
Advise on staffing, resource planning, and forecasting to ensure smooth project delivery
Provide hands-on support for escalations and serve as executive sponsor on key engagements
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to improve the end-to-end customer experience
Work with the Director of Professional Services on annual planning, team strategy, and risk management
Analyze implementation data and feedback to improve delivery quality and operational efficiency
Build scalable processes and tooling that support a growing customer base and enable consistent delivery excellence

Skills & Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring an implementation team
Experience in a Professional Services delivery role, with strong results in CSAT, project delivery and risk mitigation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and grow a diverse team
6 to 8 years of experience working with a SaaS/Technology company; experience with CLM or workflow automation tools a plus
Familiarity with the Ironclad platform or other CLM systems preferred
Proven ability to build scalable systems and improve operational efficiency
Comfortable working directly with enterprise customers and managing stakeholder expectations
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

Job Description
Interns will work on cases from a range of practice areas that we handle, including immigration, assistance with federal and local public benefits (including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and ADAP among others), future planning, health insurance appeals, discrimination, workplace rights, medical debt, insurance navigation, consumer rights, and name and gender changes. Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, by phone and in person. Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, responsibilities include client communications, legal research, and writing, preparing programmatic materials, and advocacy with private entities and government agencies. Flexibility to attend occasional community events/programming during the evening or weekend is preferred.
Internships are unpaid; therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to secure funding and/or school stipends for themselves. Students who meet the eligibility requirements listed below may apply.
Eligibility:
- Students must be currently enrolled in law school and working toward their Juris Doctor or LLM
- Previous experience working with LGBTQI or HIV+ community, immigrants, and/or survivors of trauma is highly desired
- Must work well independently and collaboratively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and medical staff
- Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, responsible, and comfortable working with diverse populations from a variety of backgrounds.
- Spanish proficiency is a bonus
- Students must be able to give a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Students will need to work on their own personal and/or school laptop
- Must be able to attend a half-day orientation and complete required training and surveys via our online system, ADP
- Must comply with all regulations of the internship and policies of Whitman-Walker Health
