The Accountant II is responsible for performing general accounting activities requiring insight into business processes and the ability to investigate and explain variances in business results from period to period. The role will meaningfully participate in the monthly financial statement closing process, the bi-weekly forecast process and the annual budget. The role will also drive continuous process and productivity improvements by leveraging existing systems capabilities and implementing automation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs general accounting activities for the monthly financial statement close, bi-weekly forecast, and annual budget processes. Activities require insight and depth of understanding of business drivers.

  • Conducts pertinent investigation of assigned accounts; understands and communicates causes of variances between actual, forecasted, budgeted and last year results. Uses judgment to determine its significance/relevance.

  • Effectively collaborates with cross-functional business partners to source relevant data needed, understand business drivers that cause variances to expectations, size future financial risks and opportunities and communicate the results of financial analyses.

  • Drive process and productivity improvements within Accounting, to liberate time for reinvestment in analytics and business support. Leverage existing systems and new solutions such as Alteryx and UI Path.

Key Responsibilities:

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week?
**What you will do:**
+ Responsible for the cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities created by personnel to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.
+ Develops detailed scope based on Account Managers design-build scope or plans and specifications developed and published for competitive bidding through contracting channels.
+ Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points list.
+ Responsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
+ Responsible for holding pre-bid meeting with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc.
+ Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects. Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
+ Assist Account Manager with determining the need for out-sourced engineering involvement and work with Operations / Fulfillment group to improve and control cost variations in labor, material and electrical subcontract through pre-bid validation and post mortems.
**What you will bring:**
+ Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in estimating, engineering, construction management; or five (5) to seven (7) years of controls field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in estimating, engineering or construction management.
+ Must have proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls and HVAC Systems.
+ Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred. Must have strong financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget.

  • Operate machinery and adjust as necessary to maximize efficiency.
  • Meet established production goals.
  • Oversee and perform daily checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor product quality and adjust machine to maintain tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform maintenance.
  • Assist quality control, reporting and recordkeeping procedures.
  • Cooperate with Engineering in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Operate overhead cranes and Forklifts.
  • Comply with safety and health regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Clean machinery and work area.

Qualifications for Machine Operator II

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months to 3 years experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with production and plant processes.
  • Basic math skills - ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. To bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
