SUMMARY:
Assemble the component of the aerial ladder and mount to the chassis. This position requires individuals with strong mechanical abilities. They perform work with hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical components of the truck. Individuals in this position are required to work with a variety of hand tools and power tools.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mount hydraulic valves and components.
- Install diamond plate and trim to turntable.
- Mount torque box to chassis.
- Mount superstructure to chassis.
- Mount outrigger structure to chassis.
- Install and mount small components (i.e. rung covers, side rollers, rasp assembly and slide pads, etc.) to ladder, truck and turntable.
- Run power cables and harnesses.
- Mount electrical components.
- Run hydraulic hoses.
- All bolts above ½" must be torque to specifications.
- Complete pinning of cylinders.
- Assist with and perform duties defined in all levels of assembly positions.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines.
- Ability to retain and apply instructions.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and abilities.
- Knowledge of Hydraulic valves, pumps, cylinders and hosing
- Knowledge of 12 and 110 volt wiring

• Operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly machines
• Load reels of strip terminals and housing onto assembly machines

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
-
Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards.
-
Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
-
Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures on equipment; maintains files on procedures and manuals.
-
Ensures test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals.
-
Responds expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.
-
Researches and initiates orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters.
-
Maintains purchase order log and validate invoices for payment (field service personnel only).
-
Provides informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as requested or when circumstances dictate.
-
Makes recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies on equipment; keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems.
-
Participates in the Quality Improvement / Risk Management program by gaining an understanding of the issues and concerns of customers and making recommendations for improvement.
-
Maintains an orderly and functional work environment.
-
Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
-
Documents all significant asset related actions in compliance with department practices.

Participates in department meetings.
-
Collaborates with fellow technical personnel in department meetings to ensure they are kept abreast of technical updates and/or device related problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience

3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment

For field service positions requiring travel, valid driver’s license is required

Ability to work independently with some supervision
-
Good communication and strong customer service skills

Good organization and time management skills
-
Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets

Good trouble-shooting skills
-
Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required

Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team

The Mechanical Fabricator will fabricate, assemble, weld, and repair TAIT products. This individual will have MIG, TIG, and/or FCAW knowledge and experience. This position will require the individual to be functional in mechanical, assembly, and fabrication procedures and techniques. The position is responsible to deliver a finished quality product to the client within estimated time.
Essential Responsibilities
• Read and understand blueprints, drawings
• Ensure correct material/products are used in the project
• Evaluate the quality of materials, parts, and equipment before the fabrication process is started. Report any concerns to management before continuing with project.
• Adhere to and implement proper fabrication and assembly techniques efficiently and effectively
• Utilize general fabrication tools safely, efficiently, and effectively.
• Maintain accurate dimensional tolerances and product specifications.
• Conduct quality check at assignment completion. Report any concerns to management.
• Maintain traceability requirements by reporting as-built modifications to management redline documentation.
• Safely handle materials manually and/or with lifting equipment.
• Monitor tools for breakage and tool wear symptoms and report equipment issues.
• Knowledge of required maintenance and upkeep on specified equipment.
• Understanding of fabrication processed and the materials produced in department to support projects.
• Assist with other tasks, within or outside the department, based on operational needs (i.e. finish work, paint prep, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of welding techniques
• Fabrication and mechanical assembly experience
• Basic Knowledge of welding symbols
