Job Description

The Construction Technician II at ASG is responsible for assisting the Outside Plant (OSP) division in the construction of utility networks. Responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at construction sites, along with assisting craft workers with their duties.

What you'll do: (Including, but not limited to):
  • Understand and practice all safety procedures in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Completes all required paperwork and reporting promptly as required by the company
  • Transport and move equipment as required both locally and nationally; clean and maintain equipment
  • Responsible for trip logs, pre- and post-daily inspections, and securing equipment per DOT regulations
  • Assist others with completing their skilled tasks more effectively; locate and verify all utilities before and during construction
  • Clean and prepare the construction site for work, remove debris and possible hazards; Dig, place, and pull utility products as required
  • Utilizes hand tools to complete tasks as needed
  • Perform restoration back to existing conditions, place seed and straw
  • Identify utilities and monitor digging by the dig crew to prevent utility hits
  • Understand the basic scope of the project and all aspects of OSP construction
  • Restock trucks with supplies and ensure the crew has the proper tools and supplies to complete the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification
What you'll need:

General
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience required
  • US CDL class A driver's license with a valid medical card required
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors of utility flags and markings on the ground
  • General knowledge of construction practices
  • Able to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when required
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

HEAD CUSTODIAN II - SECOND SHIFT - HIGH SCHOOL

A. Supervision:

Under direct supervision of the Principal or his/her designee and in their absence the Supervisor of Custodial Services.

B. General:

Responsible for maintenance of assigned buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. To schedule his/her work with the least inconvenience to teachers and classes. To schedule custodial duties of all custodians assigned to him/her and use their capacities to the school's best advantage.

C. Duties:

The following are to be performed daily, or as required by the Head Custodian or employees assigned to him/her in accordance with his/her instructions to them:

1. Custodial:

a) Cleanliness of assigned areas, including sweeping, dusting, waxing, buffing of floors, waste emptying, chalkboard/whiteboard cleaning, repairing furnishings, etc.
b) Handling or assisting in handling incoming or outgoing parcels, freight, or express.
c) Assumes responsibility for general security of the buildings.
d) Service mechanical equipment used in cleaning.
e) Preparation for night activities. Including supervision and help setting up for activities, night classes, etc.
f) Remove snow from entrances, steps, or other areas. Removal of snow from walk and parking areas, as assigned.
g) Check building both Saturday and Sunday for heating deficiencies, damage, vandalism, unlocked doors and open windows.

2. Lead activities:

a) Help in selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of members of the custodial staff.
b) Monitors the time records of all night custodial employees in his/her building and presents AVO's to the Principal for his/her signature regarding sick days, overtime, vacations, and time without pay.
c) Maintains an inventory and recommends purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment.
d) Evaluates the performance of the night custodial staff as required.
e) Upon the request of the Building Principal or his/her designee, transport monies to the bank.
f) Strives constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.

D. Qualifications:

1. Good moral character.

5. Capable of working around children and general public.
6. Capable of operating independent of supervision.
