• An Engagement Director is responsible for the planning, execution and management of complex and large transformation engagements at Our IT Consulting clients. He/she coordinates the work of Our Client and client team members for one or more projects

• GTM experience - led pursuits (full RFP cycle - written responses, created staffing, pricing, internal approvals, orals presentations)

• Led 10+ full lifecycle delivery engagements

• LS Industry experience is preferable - worked for a major pharmaceutical, bio-tech & medical device company

• Should be well versed with FDA validation requirements

This Life Science Underwriter will manage a Life Sciences book of business for the MidAtlantic and will be responsible for the successful renewal and growth of LS business in the designated territory. The Life Science Underwriter will have accountability for the financial performance of the Life Sciences book of business, achieving growth for the branch, region and territory. They will identify opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources, identify cross sell opportunities, conduct agency planning/goal setting including monitoring of progress and make regular broker and insured visits.

This position reports to the Mid-Atlantic region Life Sciences Underwriting Manager. This position will be based on experience in underwriting and compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

Skills Required:
  • Underwriter candidate will have 5 years commercial multi-line underwriting experience, preferably in Life Sciences casualty placements
  • Strong sales and marketing skills are also critical.
  • Must be able to demonstrate success in marketing, producer/book management and new business development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners and nurture key producer relations.
  • The ideal candidate for the role will possess a high degree of proficiency with the underwriting process, risk analysis, and work effectively in collaboration with an Underwriting Associate.
  • Effective desk management is a critical part of this role.
  • Must have exemplary ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and coworkers and exhibit strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

As an Underwriter, responsibilities will include managing a renewal book and generating new business. The position will be responsible for driving profitable growth with assigned agents and brokers. Products include Package (Property, General Liability), Products Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, Umbrella/Excess and International. We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solid business and underwriting acumen.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will have experience in Property & Casualty lines of business. Experience in Life Sciences preferred, but not required.
  • Underwriting duties will include developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals while actively identifying account rounding opportunities for other Chubb practices
  • This position must collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management as necessary. The underwriter must implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations
  • Strong sales, marketing, and negotiation skills are critical; must be able to demonstrate successful agency and broker management, including building, maintaining, and managing producer and customer relationships
  • Ability to identify opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources
    Knowledge of marketing principles, pricing/rate strategies and how to apply them to attain underwriting profit
  • Candidate must possess a high degree of proficiency with the underwriting process, with a solid background in risk analysis
  • Knowledge and proficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies expected
  • Active engagement in local and remote marketplaces.

The Superintendent is responsible for all on site construction activities, with the project manager's assistance, on projects ranging from $100k-$20M.
