LOAN PROCESSING SPECIALIST
The ideal Loan Processing Specialist will have experience in supporting the lending staff to ensure a smooth workflow from the back office to the front line. Your responsibilities will include performing routine preparation of loan documents for Consumer and Commercial applications for new loans, loan renewals and loan extensions and ensure all loan documents are accurately completed within the established time limits. You will understand lending activities, terminologies, and state and federal banking compliance regulations related to the loan department.

What does a Loan Processing Specialist do? The specific duties/responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Review loan approvals to ensure all documents, signatures and forms are in the new loan file prior to processing the loan; follows up to obtain missing data.
- May prepare and send commitment, engagement, action, and decline letters.
- Assist loan officers and other personnel to ensure proper documentation is prepared and/or provided.
- Boards completed loans on the Bank's host computer system including but not limited to collateral, escrows, UCC information, borrowing base information, appraisal information, etc.
- Assist in managing the loan pipeline to ensure only active files are listed.
- Calculate loan pay off amounts for certain types of loans.
- Prepare and draft amendments and prepare all consent letters and obtain all credit approvals.
- Assist all loan processing teams and other areas of the loan operations department when needed.
- Set up and maintain credit and other files for documentation and compliance.
- Provide documents to the imagining team as needed.
- Answers telephone and responds to routine loan officer and customer inquiries, related to account balances, loan balances and payoffs.
- May process various loan reports and callbacks.
- Assist in managing customer assets (collateral) for all bank portfolios.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This full-time, non-exempt position reports to Loan Operations Manager. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5, with occasional overtime hours. The working arrangement is on-site.

Purpose: The Mortgage Loan Processing and Closing Specialist manages various mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Educate members on Credit Union products and services, coordinate with relevant parties, and provide exceptional member experience. Perform administrative tasks, prepare closing packages, and maintain knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with market requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Collect personal and financial information from members, actively listen to identify opportunities to answer questions, educate, and find solutions to meet their needs
- Review and analyze member mortgage loan applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy
- Order appraisals, title commitments, IRS tax transcripts, verifications, loan payoffs, and other third-party items needed for loan approval
- Review AUS Findings (if applicable) and prepare member loan files for underwriting review
- Communicate effectively with members, loan officers, underwriters, and vendors to ensure a positive experience and timely progression of the loan process
- Review conditional approvals from underwriting and allocate responsibility for obtaining required conditions accordingly
- Monitor and balance a large pipeline while regularly informing members and appropriate staff of the loan status

- Obtain all pre-funding requirements and obtain waivers for all exceptions
- Upload information from our decision software to document generation software for approved loan documents
- Communicate effectively with lending staff, closing attorneys and borrowers
- Follow up on credit and collateral exceptions
