In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for utilizing in-depth knowledge of KPs operations, principles, philosophies, policies, and organizational structures necessary to advocate independent of supervision; establishing and fostering effective relationships with legislative and executive branch staff, legislators, trade associations, and other groups of importance independently; influencing policymakers and their staff about KP and the impact of proposed legislation or regulations on KP and partnering with policymakers to craft legislation; partnering with key internal stakeholders to advise on pending legislation, regulations, changes in key government policy or personnel, and other government relations matters; communicating and negotiating with relevant legislators and staff, executive branch officials, trade associations, and the policy community on public policy issues independently; leading the advisement of key internal stakeholders on the development of legislative policy positions; and overseeing the review of relevant legislation as introduced and amended and assessing its impact on KP.

+ Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by: coordinating with key internal stakeholders and senior leadership on developments in legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, key personnel changes, national/state/local issues; integrating approaches and solutions to key issues; guiding planning efforts and response to proposed legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, national/state/local issues; and managing recommendations and ensuring communication of positioning to internal audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum eight (8) years of experience lobbying or in the legislative or executive branch or a directly related field.
+ Minimum six (6) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.

Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible formanaging a cohort of states and issues supporting businesses and free enterprise. This will largely include advocacy efforts in state legislatures and partnership with state civil justice groups and state chambers of commerce. It may also include collaboration on federal initiatives and voter education. The candidate will primarily focus on reforming legal systems and perceptions through aggressive advocacy, coalition building, grassroots engagement, and public education plans that impact the public, key opinion leaders, and public officials.
Responsibilities:
- Support ILR member companies with their key legal challenges relating to
liability-expanding or restraining legislation, primarily in the states. - Foster and improve relationships with state elected officials and state and local chambers of commerce to advocate for ILR-supported policies and legislative initiatives.
- Advocate for ILR priorities in the states by lobbying directly or managing outside lobbyists or collaborating with state partners, legislators, and legislative staff.
- Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with legal reform stakeholders, including ILR task force members.
- Manage and communicate effectively with ILR’s network of state civil justice allies and state chambers of commerce.
- Draft legislative and amendment language that ILR and its state-level partners advance.
- Testify or prepare others to testify before state legislative committees.
- Oversee outside consultants who support ILR’s state advocacy program.
- Represent ILR at conferences and coalition meetings, including ILR-hosted events and meetings hosted by other associations and organizations.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position is responsible for researching, authorizing and/or editing new and revised credit policy and procedures for the Credit Policy Manual and the Credit Procedures Manual. This position will also be responsible for analyzing and presenting data regarding trends in both adherence to policy requirements in underwriting practices and the overall performance of credit portfolio quality.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
* Support the credit risk framework that balances the Bank's current situation, desired credit culture, industry "best practices", risk tolerance, and regulatory expectations.
* Seek input from various areas and levels of the bank to assess current and necessary policy updates including updates to current policies and creation of new polices as needed.
* Identify gaps in current policy requirements and current practices; make recommendations for proposed revisions to correct deficiencies while ensuring sound risk management practices and adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Conduct analysis and research on credit policy issues and recommend changes to the Senior Credit Policy Officer.
* Collaborate with 1LOD and 2LOD Credit Risk Reporting teams to create reports for the Board of Directors and RBC management on behalf of the CCO.
* Interpret trend data on the portfolio regarding to asset quality trends and the correlation of policy exceptions to overall portfolio performance.
* Provide support for loan portfolio data aggregation, QC and report preparation.
* Analyze the impact on credit policy framework documents of modifications to credit risk practices.
* Research and create presentations for Credit Policy Committee consideration; present to the Senior Credit Policy Officer for approval. Assist in the various governance committees' administrative functions including recording minutes, assembling and distributing decks and agendas and providing logistical venue support.
* Ensure timely and accurate implementation and communication to lending personnel of policy and guidelines by publishing and communicating policy updates through various channels, including training sessions
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
*Required Qualifications**
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* 5 years of experience in a banking environment required
* 7 years of experience in credit, risk management, and regulatory supervision required
*Additional Qualifications*
* Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc. with ability to analyze large datasets of loan information to present analytics and insights
* Ability to build Tableau is a plus
* Knowledge of commercial portfolio management, credit risk, commercial credit underwriting, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to do business presentations to small groups.
* Ability to work with line and corporate management.
