Our Managing Partners are responsible for Gartner Consulting’s relationship with a portfolio of Gartner accounts within Public Saftey and Justice Industry based on the West Coast.

As a Managing Partner, you’ll advise clients at the highest strategic level with both big-picture and tactical guidance on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes. Your main goal is to develop compelling proposals and corresponding business plans that marry Gartner’s key insights to clients’ critical business objectives and help them: achieve mission critical objectives; develop best of breed Transformation strategies; reach their organizations’ strategic goals.

You will articulate to clients (CIOs, CTOs, CEOs, CMOs, CDOs and other business leaders) the breadth and depth of Gartner Consulting Solutions; Drive strategic deals in key accounts with repeatable potential.

Lead pursuit development efforts; Build accounts over time, by shifting from transactional activity toward a business stream driven by growing client relationship and trusted advisor status; Execute account planning

What you’ll need:

  • A strong passion for the Public Safety and Justice domain
  • Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery and sales capacity
  • Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the full criminal justice process from arrest to charging, disposition and corrections, including the agencies involved, statutory responsibilities and constraints, and policy level priorities such as reduced recidivism, enhanced accountability, use of diversion and improved equity and access to justice
  • Ability to persuasively communicate with executive and elected criminal justice agency leadership by aligning IT initiatives with criminal justice strategic and policy priorities
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Integrated Justice Information Systems (IJIS) including inter-agency governance alternatives, data sharing architecture alternatives, integration implementation challenges, and practical use of national standards
  • Subject matter expertise in three or more designated criminal justice application areas (court CMS; court e-Filing; prosecution CMS; public defense CMS; police RMS, police accountability (EIS, UOFS, complaints); criminal history), inclusive of:
    • Vendor market insights including leading, emerging and declining vendors and associated trends
    • Business capabilities and associated functional requirements
    • Architectural alternatives contextualized to agency needs and vendor offerings such as on premises and SaaS deployments, low-code platforms, etc.
    • Solution implementation strategies and risks inclusive of phasing approaches, governance and data migration
    • Conceptual understanding of data structures and data integration approaches
    • A consistent track record of growing and leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of commercial or government entities
    • An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal
    • An unwavering sense of ownership and commitment to the success of your team, and willingness to provide constructive/ corrective action when/ if needed
    • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve client problems. Must adapt Gartner frameworks and methodologies to strike at the heart of a client’s most pressing business challenges

    Basic Qualifications
    * 7+ years of customer-facing, large scale implementation across multiple cross-functional teams.

    The Legal and Public Policy organization is looking for a dynamic HR professional to join our team. Legal and Public Policy play instrumental roles in supporting each Amazon business in highly specialized and nuanced areas of law and policy, often times requiring a balancing act of immediate solutioning and risk mitigation with long term strategic planning and forecasting. With the regulatory and policy landscape changing rapidly and at varying degrees around the world, our legal and policy leaders play critical roles in advising, counseling and partnering with business leaders across Amazon to ensure for continued long term growth for the company for years to come.
    As the Sr. HR Business Partner, you will support Directors and VPs across the Legal and Public Policy organization, responsible for driving both strategy and execution across focus areas such as organizational health, effectiveness and design, talent development, executive coaching, change management and more. You will work closely with our internal partner teams and a global HRBP/HRP organization to drive broad goals for the organization.
    To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and goals and translate them into the highest impact work. You'll help senior leaders look around corners with recommendations based on data, anecdotes and deep experience. You will be able to adeptly influence senior leaders and stakeholders with strong communication and exemplary executive presence. We are looking for a business partner who has the ability to proactively plan and design, as well as identify and diagnose issues in order to drive solutions.
    Key job responsibilities
    - Partner with senior leaders and their teams to develop talent strategy that develops the next generation of cross-Amazon leaders
    - Serve as a thought partner and executive coach to key leaders
    - Engage in strategic planning meetings that translate business needs into people plans
    - Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, location strategy
    - Use influence and coaching skills to cultivate a culture that reflects the mission and tenets of the organization
    - Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions, etc.
    - Work with managers and employees to respond to employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests
    Basic Qualifications
    - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
    - Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner leadership role
    - 5+ years of experience working with global teams, driving organizational change initiatives, and developing talent management plans for a global organization
    Preferred Qualifications
    - MBA
    - Strong business acumen, with demonstrated ability to grow and develop senior leaders
    - Experience presenting in front of executive audiences; strong executive presence
    - Experience developing long-term business and people strategy for a scaling, heterogeneous organization

The AWS Global AI Policy team is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and strategic policy professional to support proactive AI policy development, run policy campaigns, and to help scale AI policy expertise across the Amazon and AWS teams.

    - Lead proactive AI policy development and campaigns across international markets

    A day in the life
    Reporting to the Director of AWS Global AI/ML and Canada Public Policy, this position will be responsible for analyzing business risks and opportunities, crafting coherent global policy narratives, and leading Amazon's engagement with key stakeholders. The role encompasses leadership of cross-geographic AI/ML engagements and coordination with multi-lateral institutions and events, including AI Summits and G7/B7 engagements. Working closely with global policy and technical teams across Amazon, the Principal will anticipate and support policy development in cross-cutting topic areas, while collaborating with regional Public Policy colleagues, business leaders, support teams, and customers. As part of a dedicated and talented team, this position will develop and execute effective government affairs and public policy advocacy strategies to protect and advance Amazon's interests before key international organizations.
    The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can quickly digest complex policy documents and clearly formulate and communicate recommendations and plans to peers, third party organizations, and executives, and can also drive collaborative decisions and deliver results. You will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of internal and external counterparts and collaborators crossing several aspects of AI/ML policy.
    You will achieve goals using a variety of tactics including direct lobbying, facilitating high-level meetings between AWS executives and key stakeholders, managing consultants, working through trade associations, building coalitions, and more.
    Basic Qualifications
    - 12+ years experience working in global affairs in an international institution or corporation on public policy matters, with a particular depth of experience managing political dynamics and their intersection with large-scale business operations.
    - Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant discipline (Law, Political Science, Public Policy, etc.).
    - Fluent English speaker required.
    - Some domestic and international travel required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    - 6+ years experience representing a large company or association, preferably but not necessarily in the Internet/tech industry, before policymakers
    - Experience should include deep understanding of legislative and policymaking processes.
    - Experience presenting and defending policy decisions to the public policy community and representing the organization effectively at policy conferences.
    - Familiarity with government and/or multilateral organizations with an awareness of AI/ML stakeholders and influencers.
    - Excellent intra-functional communication and cross-functional communication, and proven ability for consensus building.
    - Strong content, people, and program management and organizational skills.
    - Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and quickly identify solutions to problems.
    - The ability to dive deep on subject matters to provide thoughtful and comprehensive recommendations for a variety of complex situations.
    - An entrepreneurial mindset - an ownership mentality with regards to your projects.
    - Experience managing external consultants.

    Basic Qualifications
