**Job Summary and Qualifications**
In conjunction with Division Leadership for the assigned region, this position is charged with the following responsibilities for patient logistics projects and initiatives, as well as medical transportation strategies & operations. These include (but are not limited to):
+ Drives all aspects of the patient logistics initiative as the strategic leader developing, implementing, and tracking progress on key growth strategies into HCA through the Patient Logistics Center. Oversight includes transfer center functions, centralized patient placement, behavioral health ARC, transportation coordination center, and any added scope functions identified in current or future state.
+ Drives all aspects of the medical transportation strategy & operations, providing direct executive leadership oversight for the regional transportation leader, ensuring strong alignment with division leadership in the direction of this strategy as it continues to evolve in footprint and span of services.
+ Leads and develops direct reports who oversee daily Patient Logistics Center operations and Medical Transportation operations, which serve multiple HCA divisions as consolidated regional locations. Operational span includes oversight of strategy development, clinical processes, staff hiring, development, and training; as well as analytics support to Corporate/division/hospital leadership.

+ Through knowledge of the market, competitive landscape, and use of patient logistics & medical transport analytics; identifies and communicates potential business opportunities to division and hospital leaders for further growth.
+ Works with division and hospital management, departmental and interdepartmental staff, and physicians in identifying operational opportunities and inefficiencies, assists in the development and evaluation of alternatives and solutions, and drives the establishment of action plans for improvement. This includes the responsibilities and direct oversight for all span of controls areas noted in Patient Logistics and Medical Transport.
+ Aligns with Corporate and division compliance teams to provide executive support in the area of EMTALA as it pertains to transfer cases and medical transport. Leads EMTALA and other compliance initiatives with the Patient Logistics leader team and staff through training, consistent chart audits, and compliance reporting to hospital, division, and corporate when needed. Ensuring the Patient Logistics Center is a safety net for our facilities with all aspects of EMTALA compliance.
+ Collaborates with division emergency preparedness and acts as the leader for any needed patient evacuation efforts in the event of emergent circumstances across the division or Enterprise.
+ Works in partnership with Division CFO and Process Improvement leaders on the use of process improvement tools and techniques, analytical techniques, and statistical applications. Serves as the division coordinator/facilitator of transfer/placement/transport center initiatives. Assures that improvement processes are implemented and audited.
+ Presents the Patient Logistics Center and Medical Transportation strategic initiative updates at Corporate, division, and key stakeholder meetings; including to key physician groups, hospital leadership teams, and other parties as needed.
+ Serves as the liaison/facilitator of communication with any vendors providing transfer/transport services and bed management software regarding vision, specific goals and objectives for initiatives and guides the efforts of the vendor team toward these goals. Ensures alignment with Corporate VP and Division CFOs in all aspects of these vendor relationships
+ Develops and implements new patient logistics functionality and medical transport strategies under the guidance of the Corporate VP of Patient Logistics Centers and Medical Transportation, keeping in line with overall department scope and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Position Responsibilities
- Performs routine, uncomplicated, patient care activities applicable to unit/department:
- Clinical Logistics Center : Provide centralized remote monitoring of patient physiological data, EKGs, patient escort, and patient mobilization.
- Performs routine, uncomplicated, respiratory procedures and treatments, including but not limited to: delivery of low flow oxygen therapies, delivery of specific inhaled medications, incentive spirometry, and cleaning and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Transport of patients using wheelchair, stretcher, or wagon within hospital and to and from vehicles.
- Immediately reports any observed changes in patient and accurately relays clinical information.
- Answers telephone and communicates with other disciplines and facilities.
- Provides 1:1 observation for patients at risk of self-harm.
- Utilizes the electronic medical record as required for patient care.
- Ensures a clean and safe patient care environment.
- Ensures a clean and safe patient care environment and adequately stocks of necessary equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels.
- Demonstrates excellence in meeting the needs of customer service and operates in a professional, confidential manner.
- Adheres to the Nemours Standards of Behavior.
- Embraces other duties as assigned to support the Nemours vision/mission
Position Requirements
- High school diploma and successful completion of EMT-P course and currently licensed in the state of Florida required
- Minimum of one year of patient care experience highly preferred.
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification (BLS)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life support (ACLS)
- Decontamination (HERT) training required within one year of hire
