Job Description

• Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations (Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures -OGSM) in order to support the growth and strategy of Identification Solutions.

• Interface with Commercial, Program Deployment, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations to formulate and drive supply planning strategies including development of strategic inventory programs.

• Achieve maximum levels of productivity, ensuring that the business benefits from the lowest possible cost and best value.

• Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transportation costs and efficiency - Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements

• Perform various activities to backup and maintain the flow of work in the department.  Ensure staff is focused on process improvement.

• Mentor and provide development opportunities for staff, retain and identify development plans for high potential talent

• Implement and integrate Company EHS programs and develop facility specific procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory and Company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management/Logistics or related field required

• 5-7+ years Materials Management and Logistics experience, with 3+ year’s supervisory or lead experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. continuous flow, cellular etc.) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

• Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Software Solutions, ERP system experience is preferred (e.g. Oracle, SAP, etc.).

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential to lead and collaborate across a diverse and complex organization.

• Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment

Summary

The Global Logistics Director will lead UWI’s worldwide logistics operations, driving strategy across transportation, packaging, compliance, technology, and partner management. This role ensures our global supply chain delivers best-in-class efficiency, cost, compliance, and service across all channels, including dealer, distributor, and direct-to-consumer sales.

This leader will oversee global carrier negotiations, compliance programs, 3PL partnerships, and logistics systems while building and developing a world-class team. Success in this role requires strategic vision, operational rigor, and the ability to collaborate across a global, matrixed organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global logistics strategy focused on efficiency, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Lead packaging improvements to optimize both cost and quality.
• Establish operating and cost metrics; monitor and report on performance.
• Ensure online sales delivery costs and execution are competitive with top e-commerce retailers.
• Design, document, and implement global transportation compliance programs (Export Control, HAZMAT, etc.).
• Establish supplier qualification and development programs for transportation partners.
• Analyze capacity to support future growth and strategic planning.
• Define logistics partner strategy (carriers, 3PLs, etc.) and manage key vendor relationships.
• Provide strategic input into sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP).
• Oversee logistics operations outside the U.S. through matrixed relationships.
• Lead critical technology projects (ERP, TMS, WMS) as primary business partner.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate global supply chain disruptions.
• Partner with direct-to-consumer teams to improve cost and service performance.
• Build relationships with key dealer and distributor partners to ensure top-tier service.
• Lead annual budgeting, target setting, and organizational planning.
• Develop and coach global logistics talent, optimizing team structure and performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Global logistics staff and managers across multiple geographies
• Dotted-line oversight of fulfillment operations outside the U.S.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Operations, E-Commerce, Customer Service, and Leadership teams

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in global logistics management.
• 3+ years in a senior role setting global logistics strategy.
• Proven success negotiating contracts with parcel, LTL, and 3PL carriers (U.S. and international).
• Experience with ERP, TMS, WMS; system implementation preferred.
• Strong track record in compliance program management and international trade regulations.
• Experience leading global logistics operations at scale, including fulfillment centers.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Durable consumer goods experience preferred.

• Communicate with TL carriers to confirm pickups and deliveries exceptions and perform check calls in ProTrans' TMS System.
• Facilitate successful border crossing operation in conjunction with Border Crossing team and notify Customers about any deviation on customs process at the border.
• Responsible for arranging the expedite shipment needs of the Customer and effectively communicating with ProTrans' Expedite team.
• Assist Customers plants with daily operational issue resolution.
• Responsible for escalating service level issues to Operations Manager.
• Communicate holiday schedules to customers and/or any internal adjustment at ProTrans.
• Responsible for ensuring the customer is aware of any exceptions in performance, delays etc.
• Responsible for ensuring reporting is distributed as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly)
• Work with ProTrans' Account Receivable team to secure billing process on a timely manner.

+$.25 shift premium for weekends

Job Description

As a Logistics Specialist I, you assist with the preparation of our logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You'll support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities. You'll learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
