Position Summary Responsible for tasks in relation to ensuring the facility is kept neat and clean, both inside and on outer grounds. Reports deficiencies, including required maintenance for building, racking, shelving, and equipment to management. Expected to be able to perform all aspects of the job as described below. This position is for the swing shift with the hours of 11am-7pm. Areas of Responsibilities- Keep aisles and work areas clear and free of debris, spills, shrink wrap, boxes, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness standards of breakroom and restroom areas.
- Maintain health of motorized equipment through watering, cleaning, and charging.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
- Able to work independently.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Dispose of trash and recyclable materials (i.e., cardboard) in compactor or baler.
- Routinely check, monitor, and empty waste bins.
- Safely manage the day-to-day inspection and basic maintenance of the motorized equipment with regularly scheduled waterings, cleanings, and charging.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, as required by operational needs.
- Flexibility to work in other areas and departments, as needed. Must be able to cross-train in other departmental areas.
- Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents. Follow all food safety policies and procedures including performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments and related activities as directed.
- Promote a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers.
- Safely operate and become certified in use of electric pallet jack, walk-rider, forklift, floor scrubber and/or other required equipment (training provided).
- 1 or more years related to cleaning or sanitation experience. (Required)
- Previous forklift certification. (Preferred)
- Ability to count and perform basic math.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- The warehouse is a non-climate-controlled facility. The outside temperature generally reflects the inside temperature with little air circulation. Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to dust.
- Exposure to various cleaning supplies and chemicals will be experienced throughout the work shift. PPE will be provided.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses, safety vest and any other personal protective equipment as required for the facility/work area (i.e., gloves, safety shoes).

Job duties include:
+ Maintain building floors and hallways using machine or manual processes by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing and stripping wax, and vacuuming and scrubbing carpets.
+ Clean windows, ceilings and walls by determining appropriate cleaning agents, mixing chemicals, and applying them.
+ Clean and maintain rooms and furniture by dusting, moving, rearranging, setting up or taking down tables and chairs, and making minor repairs to furniture.
+ Clean and sanitize restrooms by scrubbing floors, sinks, bathtubs, and toilets; maintaining supplies of soap and paper products; and emptying wastebaskets and trash containers.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Join our team of dedicated maintenance staff today! Custodians are responsible for maintaining clean and safe State buildings in and around the State Capitol Complex in St. Paul. Their duties include routine maintenance such as sweeping, dust mopping, vacuuming, emptying waste and recycling bins, cleaning restrooms, and more. Positions are ideal for hard workers that enjoy self-directed work while still being part of a team environment.
This posting is used to fill several positions for all State Office Buildings on the Capitol Complex. Most positions are fulltime evening shift working from 4pm to Midnight. However, some positions may be day shift or have variable hours. Specific building and shift options will be discussed at the time of interview based on current availability. Employees working 2nd shift receive a 2.25/hour pay differential.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Knowledge of:
+ Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment
+ A working knowledge of commercial cleaners such as 3M Twist 'n Fill Chemical Management System. Cleaning agent(s) may include, but are not limited to; disinfectants, non-acid bowl cleaner, multipurpose cleaner, glass cleaner, and disinfecting wipes. Must have the ability to appropriately select the agents(s) handle, apply and dispose of safely.
+ Methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use them effectively and operate safely
Ability to:

**This announcement will be used to fill multiple positions throughout the 2025 operating season at Itasca State Park.**
Established in 1891, Itasca is the oldest state park in Minnesota and one of the first state parks in the country. Home to the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, the park is one of the top tourism attractions in the Upper Midwest. Itasca State Park operates 7 days a week with visitors on-site 24 hours a day during peak operations.
Itasca State Park is currently seeking multiple part-time General Maintenance Workers at Itasca State Park to perform routine indoor and outdoor custodial and maintenance tasks. Normal anticipated season dates are from approximately April 30th through October 7th. Work hours vary, and workdays include evenings, holidays, and weekends. Housing may be available.
Responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining building floors and hallways to provide clean, comfortable, healthy, and safe environment using machine or manual processes by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, stripping wax, vacuuming, and scrubbing carpets. Cleaning windows, skylights, ceilings, and walls to maintain clean, comfortable, and safe environment by determining appropriate cleaning agents, mixing chemicals, and applying them.
2. Cleaning and maintaining rooms and furniture to provide clean, safe, and usable office, classroom, or meeting space by dusting, moving, rearranging, setting up or taking down tables and chairs, and making minor repairs to furniture.
3. Cleaning restrooms to provide clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment by scrubbing floors, sinks, and stools, maintaining supplies of soap and paper products, and emptying wastebaskets and trash containers.
4. Cleaning sidewalks and parking lots so that orderly appearance and accessibility are ensured by removing rubbish and other materials.
