Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
• Perform equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Support production and engineering teams by maintaining production lines and related equipment
• Utilize tools such as multimeters, schematics, and diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues
• Complete documentation and comply with safety and quality standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
Equipment Maintenance Technician QUALIFICATIONS:
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Requirements
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in equipment or mechanical maintenance
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, mechanical systems, and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Must be comfortable working a 12-hour rotating shift and standing for extended periods
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Qualifications
• Experience with pneumatic systems, conveyor belts, or automated manufacturing equipment
• Familiarity with CMMS systems or work order tracking

-Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment (10%)

• Know PLC (Programmable Logic Control) and generate troubleshooting.
•Familiar with NEC ( Electric Codes)
•HVAC/Refrigeration (A PLUS)- know basic troubleshooting
•Mechanical hands on experience (with gearboxes, blowers, bearings, etc.)
•Electrical concepts and how they work - be aware of high voltage(480 Volts) concepts and apply
safety work practices.

Performs vehicle servicing activities, which includes checking alignment and suspension; changing oil; checking fluid levels; inspecting equipment; and performing other related activities to ensure safe motor vehicle operations for emergency vehicles.

Performs body repair work from major damage to minor panel replacements and painting.

Answers service and breakdown calls; conducts on-site repairs when possible; operates wrecker to return broken down vehicles and equipment to the shop.

Typical Qualifications

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Equipment Maintenance Mechanic:
This is the third of five levels in the Equipment Maintenance series. Incumbents analyze, inspect, test, maintain and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities may include maintaining and repairing brake, engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, exhaust, axle assemblies, air conditioning, and related systems; performing minor body repair; changing and repairing tires; aiding disabled vehicles; and maintaining maintenance and repair records.

Senior Equipment Maintenance Mechanic: This is the fourth of five levels in the Equipment Maintenance series. Incumbents analyze, inspect, test, maintain and repair specialized vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities may include maintaining and repairing fire department vehicles and apparatus; prioritizing repairs; welding and fabricating parts; maintaining maintenance and repair records; and performing the duties of the lower levels.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions ( Equipment Maintenance Mechanic):
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and performs complex, skilled repairs and/or overhauls to vehicles and equipment in assigned area of responsibility, including inspecting, and replacing of broken or worn parts.
- Diagnoses, repairs, cleans, adjusts, and installs fuel, ignition, electrical and cooling systems involving repair and replacement of applicable parts which, depending on assignment, may include carburetors, fuel pumps, starter motors, distributors, generators/alternators, voltage regulators, wiring, switches, hoses, batteries, radiators, thermostats, and water pumps.
- Performs preventative maintenance and servicing activities which, depending on assignment, may include changing oil; changing filters; applying lubricants; checking fluid levels; inspecting brakes, chassis components, and tires; and performing related activities.
- Answers service and breakdown calls; conducts on-site repairs when possible; operates wrecker to return broken down vehicles and equipment to the shop.
- Completes a variety of logs, documents, and/or simple reports regarding quantity of materials handled, equipment operations, vehicle conditions, maintenance, and repair activities, and/or related information.
- Keeps shop and assigned work area clean and organized; disposes of unusable replacement parts; and disposes of used motor oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze.
- Performs other related work as required.
Essential Functions (Senior Equipment Maintenance Mechanic):
- Diagnoses, repairs, cleans, adjusts, and installs systems on specialized vehicles and equipment involving repair and replacement of such parts as carburetors, fuel pumps, starter motors, distributors, generators/alternators, voltage regulators, wiring, switches, batteries, pulleys and belts, radiators, thermostats, and water pumps.
- Performs repairs to vehicles and light or heavy equipment, which includes changing tires, replacing brakes, servicing transmissions, changing engine gaskets and parts, and/or performing related activities.
- Performs vehicle servicing activities, which includes checking alignment and suspension; changing oil; checking fluid levels; inspecting equipment; and performing other related activities to ensure safe motor vehicle operations for emergency vehicles.
- Performs body repair work from major damage to minor panel replacements and painting.
- Answers service and breakdown calls; conducts on-site repairs when possible; operates wrecker to return broken down vehicles and equipment to the shop.
- Fabricates and/or modifies tools as necessary which may include welding and/or other related procedures.
- Performs cross platform operations during inclement weather to include working on heavy equipment and snowplow and salt box wiring and hydraulic repairs to include loaders, backhoes and many varied sizes dump trucks and medium duty trucks
- Completes a variety of logs, documents, and/or simple reports regarding quantity of materials handled, equipment operations, vehicle conditions, maintenance, and repair activities, and/or related information.
- Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING (Equipment Maintenance Mechanic) Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential duties.
- Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Two (2) years' experience in heavy truck mechanical maintenance and repair.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential duties.
- Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License.
- Automotive Service Excellence Certificate in Heavy Truck Repair.
- Forklift Operators License.

The work is very heavy work which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
- Crawling: Moving about on hands, knees, hands, and feet.
- Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and perform corrective maintenance on complex production systems to minimize downtime and maximize operational availability.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Apply a systematic approach to troubleshoot and diagnose off-normal conditions in mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- System Repairs & Alterations: Conduct hands-on repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades on one-of-a-kind equipment, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Meticulously log all maintenance actions, system performance data, and component history, maintaining a detailed and accurate record for turnover and engineering review.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold a culture of safety and procedural compliance, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Take ownership of the safe operational condition of assigned equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with pumps, valves, compressors, and fluid systems OR strong electrical aptitude with power distribution, control systems, and electronics.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to operate effectively under pressure, logically diagnose equipment casualties, and take decisive action to restore operation.
- Technical Documentation: Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from complex schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Operations & Maintenance Experience: Experience gained as a qualified operator or maintenance technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment is highly desired.
- Education & Bonus Skills: A technical degree or certification is a plus. Experience with lasers, vacuum systems, or high-pressure systems is a significant bonus. Completion of the Naval Nuclear Power School, Prototype, and a sea tour serves as an exceptional equivalent to formal education.
