Job Description
Morbark's Manufacturing Engineer position works as part of the operations team to improve designs for manufacturing as well as improve communication between engineering and production. Manufacturing Engineers work under minimal supervision, independently prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses for planning process implementation of new or modified product designs to the factory. The Manufacturing Engineer will also lead problem solving for manufacturing issues as they relate to the design of components as well as supporting legacy components.
**Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions.
+ Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines.
+ Troubleshoot day-to-day process performance issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements.
+ Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of manufacturing best practices, product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, test methods, and quality control standards.
+ Validate process cycle times by conducting time studies.
+ Provide day-to-day coaching duties in absence of team leader; and
+ Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.
+ Determine manufacturing time and cost of new assemblies.
+ Works with suppliers to determine product specifications and conformance to quality standards, and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
**Essential Qualifications**
+ Prior experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
+ Metal Forming/Welding/Fabrications experience in a manufacturing environment; - preferred.
+ Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers;

The DuPont Healthcare Industries Materials Site produces products for use in the Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Medical, and Cosmetic Industries. The site has been in continuous operation since 1964, dedicated to Healthcare products. Our products are distributed globally and are recognized as World Class for quality.
The Laboratory is staffed 12 hours per day, 365 days per year, excluding some holidays or other site shutdown events. The lab is staffed in a 2-3-2 non-rotating 12-hour shift schedule. The Lab Testers are on-call for in-process testing during the off-shift.
**RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION**
**Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:**
+ Testing raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
+ Inspection of incoming raw materials and chemical intermediates to assure quality before use in production

+ Testing includes use of complex and sensitive instrumentation and techniques including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update HACCP protocols in collaboration with the Food Safety Coordinator and management.
- Implement and monitor quality, sanitation, and SSOP programs to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the lead contact for third-party audits, preparing and managing all necessary QA and food safety documentation.
- Maintain records related to label approvals and ensure accurate documentation for products produced.
- Work with food safety, technical service, and QA teams to manage product specifications (including allergen, nutritional, and formulation data).
- Distribute new product information and specifications to relevant departments.
- Oversee quality review during initial production runs of new items.
- Manage quality incident reporting and follow up on product issues.
- Develop and maintain customer product specifications and conduct shelf life studies as needed.
- Promote and execute quality and food safety policies, procedures, and training programs across the facility.
- Assist with SSOP documentation and addressing USDA-related matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, or a related field is preferred.
