**Job Duties and Responsibilities**

In order to build and improve the business, we need a Consumer Insights Senior Lead who has both the patience to listen and the curiosity to ask meaningful questions, and someone as passionate about communicating inspiring insights as they are about discovering them. The Senior Lead must want to be at the heart of delivering unbiased data and actionable insights to drive decisions, as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to work across a wide variety of projects (e.g., advertising performance, brand tracking, positioning and messaging strategy, product and promotion development, segmentation, pricing, customer satisfaction).
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assessing the information needs of the organization and ensuring that transferred knowledge is unbiased, integrated, and synthesized to provide clear, actionable, and impactful insights and business recommendations
+ Utilizing sound methodologies and cost-effective solutions, including full internal implementation when it provides the optimal solution
+ Leading and managing multiple quantitative and qualitative projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision
+ Must be comfortable with leading all phases of research including research design, sample framework development, questionnaire design, tabulation, data interpretation and analysis, reporting, development of actionable recommendations, and presentation of research initiatives
+ Developing and leveraging strategic relationships with best in class external business partners, including quality control and successful identification and qualification of new research tools and best practices
+ Consolidating information across various custom and secondary research studies
**Skills, Experience and Requirements**
**Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, marketing research or statistics (MBA, MMR, or MSMR considered an advantage)
+ A minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative market research (some supplier side research experience considered an advantage)
+ Experience with various data collection methods and with cross-tabulation portals and/or analytical software (e.g., Decipher, Qualtrics, SPSS, SAS, etc.); knowledge of emerging technologies in the field (e.g., AI) a plus
**Skills and Qualifications:**
+ Management of projects with advanced analytics (e.g., MAXDIFF, TURF, Discrete Choice, Perceptual Mapping, Clustering, Regression, Segmentation, etc.)
+ Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill research findings, create engaging visualizations, tell compelling stories, and communicate clearly and effectively while adapting to the audience
+ Agility and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and take on a variety of responsibilities to support the Consumer Insights Team
+ Attention to detail, critical thinking, creative problem solving, positive attitude, ambition, and collaborative team spirit
+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
+ Experience with the following are preferred, but not a requirement:
+ Media and entertainment industry research
+ Using syndicated industry reports / resources as sources of truth to address ad hoc business questions, identify key industry trends, and provide connective tissue to validate / strengthen insights from ad hoc research studies
+ Using "American Consumer" databases such as MRI Simmons or Resonate to develop customer and consumer profiles

What You'll Do

The Center for Customer Insight (CCI) is a center of excellence for all things related to customer research and insight-driven strategy at BCG. As a Senior Analyst (SA) for CCI's Vantage team, you will play a critical role in helping customer insights projects succeed. You will support execution of quantitative and qualitative primary consumer research efforts, learn to translate research into meaningful / actionable insights for the C-suite, and communicate recommendations to internal consulting teams working on complex strategy cases for the worlds biggest brands.

CCI projects ignite growth for our global clients across industries through best-in-class insights on customer behaviour and needs. One project may involve writing a survey to inform the investment thesis for a consumer

products client looking at an acquisition in a new category. Another project may involve developing, executing, and synthesizing new qualitative and quantitative research to inform service Innovation for a travel and tourism client. Yet another may necessitate research to renovate the employer branding for a fashion and luxury client. While contributing to client projects, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / execute research.

In addition to supporting client projects, you will also support commercialization efforts for CCI, working in conjunction with business leaders, providing insights and advice for proposals and client workshops. You will contribute to the development of intellectual property (including original research and publications), best practice training materials for customer insights / research, and other assets for the business; Improving BCG's proprietary frameworks; building methodologies and tools; and guiding generalist consultants on the execution of quantitative and qualitative research. You will develop state of the art tools, working hand in hand with Knowledge Team peers.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of consulting experience in primary customer research required; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred

In lieu of consulting experience, 3+ years minimum industry experience required; 4-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred

  • Direct experience using quantitative research to address a range of business problems (experience with qualitative research and/or social listening a plus)
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of consumer research: designing the approach / sample; writing questionnaires / discussion guides; managing fieldwork and related vendors; developing analytic plans; preparing data models / conducting data analysis; preparing compelling deliverables
  • Experience in a range of research methodologies (e.g., segmentation, MaxDiff, TURF, pricing sensitivity approaches, conjoint, derived importance, attitudes & usage studies, focus groups, online communities, etc.)
  • Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience using analytical skills to generate insights that inform business strategy. Mastery of Excel required; familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, SPSS, Tableau a plus
  • Experience conducting research in Financial Services, Insurance, Technology, Media, and/or Telecommunications a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish a plus

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCGs Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

We expect total annualized compensation for Chicago, Denver, and Boston based employees to be approximately the following:

  • Base salary between $115,700- $19,500 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-24%
  • 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
