**Responsibilities**
Mayo Clinic Store respiratory therapist functions in multiple capacities within the healthcare and Mayo Store team. MCS RT will dispense, monitor, and troubleshoot prescribed respiratory home medical devices. Depending on store locations devices include but not limited to: Positive Pressure Therapy (including advanced BiPAP modes); stationary and portable oxygen concentrators, suction, and Broncho-Pulmonary Clearance.
MCS RT will function as a content expert and advocate for our Mayo Store patients by communicating, monitoring, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment when dispensed by the Mayo Store. This would include but not be limited to: Monitoring and follow up of therapy devices; communication with caregivers, patients, and medical providers regarding prescribed equipment and patient's therapy; recommendation to patient care team appropriate home respiratory equipment and/or therapy that could benefit the patient's home quality of life; Notification of patient care team when safety or harm is identified within the patient's home or non-compliant use of prescribed medical therapy.
MCS RT will act as educator in the store for respiratory therapy equipment dispensing to patients and their caregivers. RT will also provide continuing education to other Mayo Clinic and outside facilities on home medical equipment when requested. At some MCS locations, the RT may be required to provide attestation for proper dispensing of respiratory home medical equipment. MC RT is a content expert that will be expected to work with medical providers to establish mutual respect and relationship between the Mayo Store Team and the patient's medical team, ensuring a clean and efficient dispensing, hand off, and billing experience for Mayo Store patients. This may include but is not limited to: Utilizing the electronic medical record to message patient care teams for missing or correction of medical equipment billing documentation; Assisting medical care teams in selecting the most beneficial product that would maximize respiratory support in the home; Ability to refer providers to the correct vendor when product is needed that Mayo Store does not support; Follow up with care teams on ongoing educational and therapy challenges the patient or caregiver may be experiencing in the home
MCS RT will be expected to work with our Mayo Store billing office on updating required billing documentation, discrepancies in paperwork or patient usage of equipment in homes and have knowledge of insurance fee schedules. The RT will assist in accepting, processing, and completing a closed loop prescription fax process ensuring timely dispensing and treatment initiation after provider order is received. The RT's clinical knowledge will be utilized to help billing office and non-RT staff identify the appropriate equipment, prescriptions, and usages that should be dispensed while the RT works with provider as liaison to get the modified or corrected medical documentation
Depending on location, MCS RT will be responsible for sharing after hour and holiday call rotation for limited Durable Medical Equipment and Oxygen set up to support our discharging patients and contracted programs.

**Qualifications**
Minimum of and associates degree from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program and will hold the National Board for Respiratory Care entry level certification (CRT) prior to their first day of Mayo employment. Registered Respiratory Therapist credential upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must maintain through employment.
Must hold a Respiratory Practitioner License in good standing for the state the store resides in at hire and the license must remain active and in good standing throughout the RT employment at the Mayo Clinic Store.
If applicable, must have a valid driver's license. Supplemental staff or non-oxygen sites not requiring call do not require valid driver's license.
Additional experience: Experience in healthcare with an emphasis in medical business, medical billing and insurance processing preferred. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications and Epic is helpful. Must have strong human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Requires good decision making and judgment capabilities. Understands medical terminology, specific to each work area. Highly organized, efficient, multi-functional with the ability to work independently. Possess proficiency on technical office equipment including a computer, printer, telephone system, fax machine, copier, adding machine and/or any other job specific office technology. Physical and mental stamina to be able to withstand what can often be a fast-paced, stressful environment; potentially on feet 90-100% of the time. Must be able to tolerate repetitive hand motion. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred: Retail knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, new product research, and training of products to employees and patients.

**Responsibilities**
The Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) seeks a visionary, strategic, and inspirational leader to serve as the next Chair of the Hematology-Oncology department. Partnering with administrative and nursing leadership, the Chair is responsible for creating and implementing a bold strategic plan for the growth of the service line with the aims of superior quality, safety, efficiency, patient experience, and staff satisfaction. The Chair will oversee, develop and manage Hematology-Oncology healthcare services across MCHS in an integrated, coordinated and fiscally successful manner.
Given the striking opportunities to integrate research and practice across the MCHS, the new Chair will also work in partnership and with considerable financial and staffing support and expertise from the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center to build a robust community-based cancer clinical trials program, including a spectrum of trials in cancer prevention, screening, therapeutic intervention, and survivorship across the MCHS. Through these efforts and the provision of outstanding cancer care, the Chair will assure cancer health equity and access to care for the communities served by MCHS.
The Chair will work with MCHS leadership, including regional medical hematology-oncology leaders as well as allied health staff leadership to develop and execute forward-looking strategies to best meet the needs of hematology and oncology patients using specialty expertise, local physician staff, outreach programs, and e-health solutions that advance the highest standards of practice working in a collaborative environment in support of all members of the care team. The Chair will serve as the MCHS representative within the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center, representing the MCHS three-shield perspective within the broader institution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Build the MCHS Hematology Oncology practice to one of the finest community-based cancer care delivery systems in the United States.
+ Provide inspired and effective leadership to MCHS physician colleagues (including recruitment, development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning activities), while keeping the MCHS Leadership informed of the performance of the Hematology Oncology physicians and staff.
+ Lead and manage the Hematology-Oncology clinical practice, and the integration of practice with research, particularly clinical trials, within and across the MCHS.
+ Participate in creation and implementation of the specialty practice operating plan in alignment with the Mayo Clinic Health System strategic plan, representing the Mayo Model of Community Care.
+ Collaborate closely with the Mayo Clinic Rochester Departments of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and the Division of Hematology and Mayo Clinic Cancer Comprehensive Center to create a continuum of cancer care and facilitate navigation of patients between entities as necessary for a state of the art practice.
+ Collaborate with Mayo Clinic and MCCC strategic initiatives to develop the optimal models of cancer care delivery in community-based health systems by developing the optimal model and blend of in-facility, home-based, and virtual care.
+ With the support, staffing, guidance, and oversight of MCCC, build and expand a community-based cancer clinical trials infrastructure and system across key sites in the MCHS, assuring that all MCHS patients have access to cancer clinical trials and interventions, including screening, prevention, therapeutic interventional, and other types of interventional and observational trials.
+ With the support of MCCC and the Center's Office in Cancer Precision Genomic Medicine, implement cancer genomic testing (germline and somatic mutational analysis of patient cancers) for MCHS patients to facilitate state of the art care.
+ Represent MCHS as a member of the Senior Executive Leadership Committee of the MCCC
+ Represent MCHS on the Mayo Clinic Hematology/Oncology Specialty Council, focused on practice.
+ Develop relationships related to the practice, information systems, culture, and markets at all regional Mayo Clinic Health System Medical Oncology sites.
+ Provide ongoing communication of institutional, system, and departmental divisional practice issues to the staff.
+ Track and communicate results/progress toward departmental and regional performance measures and targets (e.g., quality, volumes, access/demand, productivity, credentialing/upgrading staff skills, value-based metrics and financial outcomes).
+ Ensure the alignment of critical resources to achieve goals for the department and the Mayo three shields as applicable.
+ Foster mutual respect and appreciation for individual differences; promote diversity objectives in all staff selection, performance management, and development efforts; facilitate productive working relationships and resolve conflicts among staff and between staff groups in the hematology-oncology department.
+ Strive to develop a consistent and replicable standard of care though out the MCHS by dissemination and direction of best practices.
+ Develop and execute a vision for transformation of community Medical Oncology practice including research (particularly based on community clinical trials and intervention, and cancer screening, prevention, early detection, and navigation to care), and education, training, and mentoring.

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.

Will be expected to float to other Primary Care sites as needed. Includes but not limited to Rochester and Kasson and to cross cover for non-visit care as directed by patient care needs, which may include virtual support.

8 - 10 Saturdays per year: 7am - 12 pm
