**POSITION SUMMARY**
Manages all aspects of a project's design with project management, architects, and other trades through the completion phase of a large project or multiple small projects.

+ Support high speed bearing selection and design.
+ Support strategic new business opportunities and IR&D efforts including rapid iterations to at least a preliminary machine cross section

+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
+ **Must have a minimum 5 years** **experience in the mechanical layout and design of high-speed turbomachinery (speed greater than 30,000 RPM) for aerospace applications including axial fans, centrifugal blowers, centrifugal and/or mixed flow compressors, and radial inflow and axial turbines. **Responsibilities**
**Leadership and Direction**

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree in a related field with at least 2 years of additional qualifying experience.
- 3+ year of experience in design engineering or the construction industry, related to all aspects of Mechanical, including hydronics, air side duct design, and plumbing design
- 2+ years' experience using Revit for producing Mechanical & Plumbing engineering BIM models and construction drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying local codes, International Code Council (ICC) requirements, and other Mechanical industry standards, procedures, and methodologies. Professional Engineering license, NCEES Record
- Experience with processes of design review, specification, development of design standards, and submittal review. Ability to read and understand construction documents for all trades (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.).
- Experience directly related to construction of data centers, critical medical, industrial, construction, oil and gas, or large-scale mechanical and power systems.
- Experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive Mechanical design. Advance knowledge of mechanical engineering systems
- Experience designing of high volume air handling systems and controls, chilled water systems and controls, economization solutions and direct/indirect evaporative cooling systems.
