Job Purpose
The Manager of Engineering and Maintenance is a key leadership position focusing on fostering relationships, building trust, and guiding employee growth and development. This position oversees the manufacturing facilities, engineering, and maintenance teams and directs their activities in a safe and cost-effective environment across multiple shifts. The position will operate a department with a team focused on safety, maintenance reliability, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Motivate and lead a team of multi-disciplined professionals and technicians, ensuring that the team is fully engaged and aligned with the company vision while providing strategic leadership within the maintenance and engineering departments. Exhibits impactful leadership and good decision-making skills.
+ Ensure plant manufacturing equipment operates reliably by deploying preventative and predictive maintenance practices and reliability analytics.
+ Manage work orders, preventative maintenance, inventory control, and all projects.
+ Manage capital projects from inception through commissioning, in alignment with plant and corporate objectives with communication to all stakeholders.
+ Manage, monitor, and report as required on capital projects including budget, schedule, and activities.
+ Review and maintain LOTO procedures and verify all safety protocols are being followed.
+ Oversee management of change (MOC) program.
+ Direct the maintenance department activities across all shifts to support the production schedule and problem solve equipment and facility issues.
+ Track expenses and oversee department budget.
+ Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for department.
+ Responsible for safety and environmental compliance of the department to include reporting, safety audits, and incident/near miss investigations.
+ Develop and administer onboarding and qualification/training process for mechanical and electrical technicians.
+ Develop and update department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Train department employees as required.
+ Other duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ A four-year college degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required.
+ 5 to 10 years-related experience and/or training in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
+ Experienced people with a proven track record for fostering relationships, building trust, and guiding employee growth and development.
+ Project management experience required.
+ Experience administering and utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
+ Proficient understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Factory Talk, etc).
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams).

Responsibilities

Assist in various aspects of transportation engineering projects under the supervision of a licensed Engineer.

Design roadways, streetscapes, multimodal improvements, traffic improvements, and associated infrastructure components.

Perform analysis and design for interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and site grading.

Prepare programming, schematic, design development, and construction documents.

Coordinate and communicate with design team members to ensure proper integration of transportation design details.

Prepare marketing and presentation materials.

Participate in the bidding process by preparing addenda and amendments, opening, and tabulating bids.

Perform transportation services during the construction phase, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings.

Essential Skills

1-3+ years of roadway design experience.

Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads.

Ability to develop manual calculations and analytical models for transportation analysis and design.

The Temporary Works Design Engineer is involved with the design of municipal infrastructure, highways, railways, transit systems, airports, harbors, bridges, tunnels, building, water supply and sewage treatment facilities. The position reports to the Senior Engineer. The Design Engineer must be a team player and have experience in heavy civil construction. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the project. Ensure the project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Project Engineer will be involved in.
Design Engineer Required Qualifications:

2+ years of heavy civil infrastructure industry experience is required

Proficiency in Structural software such as STAAD Pro, RISA or SAP 2000 or Geotechnical software such as CivilTech or PLAXIS and AutoCAD software

2+ years experience with falsework, formwork, pile templates, temporary works design.

Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
