CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 30 locations throughout the Philadelphia area. We are currently hiring for full-time Medical Assistants to work at multiple locations.

Please note this role is entitled to a $500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Work with an assigned physician daily
• Escort patients to the exam room
• Record medical information, review medications, and obtain vital signs
• Perform stress testing and EKGs
• Follow up on lab results
• Answer phones and assist with check-in/out procedures if necessary

Requirements

• Must be a certified or registered Medical Assistant

Position: Medical Assistant

Experience:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for helping to drive positive outcomes for our patients by providing various administrative duties regarding patient care.

3. Observe, record, and report to a provider a patient's condition and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents

6. Facilitate telehealth as needed and deemed appropriate
7. Manage PPE supplies and medical bag instruments for both self and assigned provider
8. Track patient to be discussed at the interdisciplinary team meeting
9. May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned

• Minimum two years' experience working as a medical assistant (community-based experience preferred)
• State-certified M.A, current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification or experience preferred
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess a comprehensive knowledge as normally obtained through a high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Medical Assistant certification is required. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Measures and records patient vital signs; records patient interview and medical history.
• Catalogs and communicates patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel.
• Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; assists physician with exams; explains treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patient.
• Observes patients and reports any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel.
• Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions. Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens; performs basic waived lab tests.
• Prepares and administers medications; changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures; uses CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments; practices OSHA safety standards; performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
• Processes patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate; calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
• Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology; and follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct; authorized individuals will use the ChenMed Rx system to support physician medication dispensing.
• Provides health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices. Follows up with coached patients via weekly calls.

Essential Functions:

• Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care: Collects and shares pertinent information with the provider. Receives and acts on directives from the provider.
• Responsible for preparing patients for visits with the providers. Duties include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, preparing supplies for wound care, dressing changes, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, prepping injection materials, and accurately entering data into the EMR system.
• Assists in cast and soft goods application as well as the removal of casts, staples, and sutures.
• Maintains exam room standards. Rooms should be restocked at the end of each day. Rooms and tables should be cleaned as needed during business hours and at the end of each day.
• Assists the providers in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (i.e. work release, disability, and FMLA forms, etc.).
• Prepares patients' electronic charts before the date of service.
• Maintains the inventory of medical supplies and proper maintenance of medical equipment.
• Verifies that any outstanding testing results are recorded in the EMR system, confirms the appropriateness of the patient to the provider (body part and/or insurance), and notes imaging, DME, or casting needs before provider visit on the date of service.
• Scans clinical documents into the EMR system.
• Prints schedules on the morning of the date of service.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program as defined by state regulations is preferred.
• One-two years of experience in medical office setting is preferred.
• In lieu of experience must have CMA certification.
• Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
