**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**
Nestled between the Hershey and Lancaster regions, the Elizabethtown Medical Group office seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) to join its ranks! On average, this practice will see 100 patients per day and serves primarily as a Family Practice- while also accommodating General Pediatrics and Gastro-Intestinal specialties.
The desired Medical Assistant for this position will be expected to room patients, take vitals/medicine reconciliation, and handle Point-of-Care testing. The MA will also utilize their phlebotomy skills, administer injections, conduct EKGs, and oversee clerical duties in the aspect of handling prior authorizations and patient messaging. You will likely be paired with one provider but may change as needed.
The Elizabethtown team is seeking a team-oriented and personable MA who remains motivated through the ever-changing clinical duties of the day. We believe that multi-specialty experience is a plus, but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES-The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ Perform routine procedures to include sterile dressings, E.K.G.'s, spirometries, bladder catheterizations, removal of sutures and clamps, and application of topical medications.
+ Assist physician/s with surgical procedures including removal and placement of gastrostomy tube, spinal taps, etc.
+ Use sterile technique when appropriate.
+ Obtain laboratory specimens. -Place, remove, and record allergy patch testing results.
+ Conduct lab studies of specimens; determine test results and report findings to the physician or nurse.
+ Assist in coordinating patient flow.
+ Ensure availability of appropriate equipment, supplies, test results, medical records, etc.

The Penn State Health Medical Group - Middletown office is located minutes outside of Hummelstown and sees, on average, 150-180 patients a day. This office houses several specialties including Adult and Pediatrics Rheumatology, Neurology, GI, Dermatology, Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), Bariatrics, and Family Medicine.
Operating on a day-time schedule during the weekday, the selected Medical Assistant will have a mix of clinical and clerical duties to complete. From a clinical perspective, the MA will be rooming patients, administering vaccines, handling phlebotomy, taking vitals, and assisting with in-house procedures. The clerical duties are comprised of answering phone calls from patients and monitoring messages from providers and patients alike. Due to the variety of specialties housed at Middletown, the office is seeking a highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment.

Nestled between the Hershey and Lancaster regions, the Elizabethtown Medical Group office seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) to join its ranks! On average, this practice will see 100 patients per day and serves primarily as a Family Practice- while also accommodating General Pediatrics and Gastro-Intestinal specialties.
The desired Medical Assistant for this position will be expected to room patients, take vitals/medicine reconciliation, and handle Point-of-Care testing. The MA will also utilize their phlebotomy skills, administer injections, conduct EKGs, and oversee clerical duties in the aspect of handling prior authorizations and patient messaging. You will likely be paired with one provider but may change as needed.
The Elizabethtown team is seeking a team-oriented and personable MA who remains motivated through the ever-changing clinical duties of the day. We believe that multi-specialty experience is a plus, but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES-The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ Perform routine procedures to include sterile dressings, E.K.G.'s, spirometries, bladder catheterizations, removal of sutures and clamps, and application of topical medications.
+ Assist physician/s with surgical procedures including removal and placement of gastrostomy tube, spinal taps, etc.
+ Use sterile technique when appropriate.
+ Obtain laboratory specimens.
+ Place, remove, and record allergy patch testing results.
+ Conduct lab studies of specimens; determine test results and report findings to the physician or nurse.
+ Assist in coordinating patient flow.
+ Ensure availability of appropriate equipment, supplies, test results, medical records, etc.
+ Assist in scheduling patient appointments, tests and procedures, and in patient registration and discharge activities.
+ Complete appropriate paperwork.
+ Provide patients and families with prepared instructions relative to diagnostic testing and laboratory studies.
+ Calibrate, operate, and maintain medical equipment.
+ Document patient's data, actions, and information.
