+ Maintains an inventory of medications and medical supplies. An order will be placed as needed. And entering newly arrived medications into the log prior to storage.
+ If properly trained, administers medications by intra-muscular, sub-cutaneous and itnra-dermal injection, performs skin tests while demonstrating knowledge in pertinent anatomy and physiology, proper techniques, post treatment and care, choice of equipment, hazards and complications and California Medical Assistant scope of practice.
+ Collects, handles and disposes lab specimens and infectious waste material utilizing proper technique thereby eliminating the spread of infectious disease.
**Qualifications**
+ 1-3 years prior medical assistant experience or completion of a medical assistant training program.
+ Complete a medical assistant training program.
+ AHA BLS (CPR) card within 90 days of hire.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the department. They perform a variety of tasks including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and handling correspondence. Qualifications
Required:
+ A medical assistant diploma or certificate as follows:
+ Documentation of completing of a medical assistant program from a medical assistant school that is accredited by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP or ABHES or
+ Documentation of national certification for medical assistant issued by CMA, NCCT or AMT or
+ Documentation of completing a medical assistant program and demonstrated completion of no less than 10 clock hours of training in administering injections and performing skin tests; 10 hours of training in venipuncture and skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood; at least 10 of each intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections and 10 skin tests, and/or at least 10 venipuncture and 10 skin punctures; 10 hours of training in administering medical by inhalation. Each of the aforementioned 10 hours of training and skill assessments must be completed in conjunction with the UCLA Hematology/Oncology LVN Educator and under appropriate supervision and no later than within 6 months of hire.

Description
In this position, you will participate in providing patient care in the Primary and Specialty Care clinic, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms and providing support during life threatening emergencies. You will perform basic administrative, clerical and technical supportive services as needed.
Salary Range: $29.46-$38.87 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
+ A medical assistant diploma or certificate as follows:
1. Documentation of completing of a medical assistant program from a medical assistant school that is accredited by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP or ABHES
OR
2. Documentation of national certification for medical assistant issued by CMA, NCCT or AMT
OR
3. Documentation of completing a medical assistant program and demonstrated completion of no less than 10 clock hours of training in administering injections and performing skin tests; 10 hours of training in venipuncture and skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood; at least 10 of each intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections and 10 skin tests, and/or at least 10 venipuncture and 10 skin punctures; 10 hours of training in administering medical by inhalation. Each of the aforementioned 10 hours of training and skill assessments must be completed in conjunction with the UCLA Health Ambulatory Nursing Medical Assistant Bridge Program and under appropriate supervision and no later than within 6 months of hire.
+ Skill and knowledge to maintain current Medical Assistant Certification or diploma
+ Minimum of six months of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
+ Possession of active CPR certification/BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
+ Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and procedures
+ Ability to take vital signs, perform injections, administer medications, and obtain drug refills
+ Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life threatening medical problems and assessing abnormal laboratory values
+ Ability to use a computerized patient care systems and proficiency with the Windows operating system
+ Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community based practices and work a variable schedule
Highly desired:
+ Possession of Phlebotomy Certification
