**Position Overview:**
The Medical Director will be responsible for clinical strategy relating to upcoming clinical trials, including indication selection, design of trials, and ongoing medical monitoring of safety signals in trials. This is a remote role and candidate can be located anywhere within the US.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:**
+ Design of trials, including study population and eligibility criteria, treatment duration, clinical endpoints, biomarkers, and safety mitigation strategy
+ Serve as the Program Physician for associated clinical trials, addressing patient eligibility and treatment questions in collaboration with the contract research organization (CRO) medical monitor, or directly with study investigators
+ Work closely with preclinical scientists to understand how the biological effects observed in animals can be translated to humans, and use this information to choose the best clinical endpoints and biomarkers for clinical trials
+ Be familiar with the nonclinical safety data (toxicology) and use this information to develop safety mitigation strategies in clinical trial design
+ Serve as a key part of the cross-functional project team, supporting the overall strategy, budget, and timeline of the project
+ Review safety data for individual subjects and trend review for safety signals from ongoing trials
+ Interpret, summarize, and present data from clinical trials to the company and externally
+ Provide strategic input for clinical development plans and regulatory strategy

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Pay scale $150,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on license and experience. This position is eligible to participate in up to **15** % of the company bonus pool. Experience:

Scheduling:
- Shift times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a
- Schedule cycle: Scheduler will make schedule 4 weeks at a time. Schedule will say when they’re going to work, but will call house manager for unit assignment OR assignment posted as they’re walking in to hospital
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday. Try not to put travelers on holidays unless needed
- RTO: Can approve 7 days off
Float Pool, will float to MS unit:
- 2EW – Medical /oncology/stroke
- 2NW – Tele
- 3EW – MedSurg/Surg/Urology
- 5th Floor – Ortho/MedSurg
- ER for MedSurg holds
- Could float to Peds and Psych if they are comfortable/have experience
Beds: Float to all MS units in the 226 bed hospital
Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6
Patient Types:
- All adults, unless they have peds experience
- Post-surgical patients, strokes, oncology (no chemo experience required), CHF, COPD, respiratory issues, GI issues, ortho (total joints), COVID
- Due to CNA shortage, could possibly have total care assignment or possibly act as CNA (rare)
Skills required:
- General MedSurg: Chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines (RNs will collect from central line if needed), foleys, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies
- Tele, peds, and psych experience preferred, but not required
Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? No, 2 years of MedSurg experience
