+ Maintains and updates a patient profile as needed
+ Monitors drug therapy to evaluate appropriateness of use, dose, dosage form, regimen, route, therapeutic duplication, and drug or food interaction
+ Recommends appropriate drug therapy based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature, safety, efficacy and cost
+ Timely and accurate dispensing of medications from the pharmacy area
+ Ensures proper technique and accurate preparation of all pharmaceutical products, including oral, non-sterile and sterile compounding, chemotherapeutic, hazardous, and investigational agents when supervising or preparing in compliance with regulatory guidelines and departmental procedures
+ Direct oversight of pharmacy technicians and all sterile compounding and distributive activities, working in conjunction with the Lead Technician
+ Contacts the prescriber, as appropriate, to clarify orders and/or make recommendations concerning alternate therapies.
